10 years ago I bought six of these hoses. They were "bulletproof" and exceeded my expectations. Sadly, one failed recently and I exchanged it (was free). The new hose is of worse quality the old hose in two significant areas:
- The swivel feature at the end of the hose is gone. This is significant to me because I water my lawns with a hose. The swivel feature allowed me to rotate the sprinkler until it pointed straight up. Doing so now is a pain in the neck.
- The old hose NEVER KINKED and the new hose kinked right out of the blocks. If you've ever used a kinked garden hose you know what I mean. The kinks are caused by the hose twisting as it is coiled. Although the old hose also twisted during coiling, the twists never resulted in a PERMANENT KINK.
I hope someone at Sears reads this and causes the quality to get back to where it was. In the meantime, I'll keep exchanging hoses at Sears until I get something that works!

The rubber of this product is very low quality and tends to stain your hands and clothing, not what I was expecting.

My father has had hoses like these for years... the same hoses. When I got my own yard I bought myself some. They're durable, flexible and they they don't crease when I get them kinked. Horses walk on them, I drive over them and drag them over concrete and rocks without a worry.

I have a 75, 50, 25 foot hoses all are 23 yrs. Old, my neighbor laughed at me spending so much at the time. Last summer he saw me hooking up the hoses and asked if they were still the same ones he hung his head and said he has more than likely spent 3 times what I did now on hoses.

Used it the morning after a freeze in California (28 degrees overnight) and it was soft and gummy and workable, just like I've always dreamed a hose should be! I happened to handle my neighbor's hose the same morning, and it felt as rigid as a hula-hoop.

The hose itself is very beefy and I'm sure it would last years but you can't even unwind 10 feet of this hose without it kinking. I went so far as to uncoil the entire 75' of hose a number of times thinking that this might help but no such luck. Sadly I had to return it and grab a kink free hose.

Every so often this hose WILL KINK, but all you really need to do is yank on the hose to remove the kink. With other lesser quality hoses, you would definitely have to twist the hose clockwise or counter-clockwise to try to get the kink out of the line, whereas with this one, sometimes one good tug (or a sharp SNAP, like how those lion tamers snap their whips) will remove that annoying kink. I am happy I bought this on sale, for $20. I don't think I would be happy if I had to pay MORE than that.

This is my third year with this hose and not even a small bubble - easy to use and role up - it takes a beating to - I will never buy another hose then a craftsman one. My father in law still uses his and it's 20+ years old and not a single leak or crack

This has got be the best garden hose on the market today. Craftsman always puts out quality stuff and this is no different. I know it's a garden hose, but I have two dogs that love to bite at the hose and this stands up to chewing, pulling, tugging, etc. It's worth the extra dollars for the quality and the lifetime replacement warranty.
