I usually buy and use the plastic menders for my hose repairs, but this metal one works way better. No cracking when I tighten the screws and I imagine in the long run, they will last longer than the hose since they are metal. I live in Arizona, so anything plastic will eventually dry and crack from exposure to the sun, so I'll probably be able to keep this and re-use it over the years.

I tried not ONE, but TWICE to save a couple bits by purchasing the cheapest plactic knock-off to repair my hose. Both times the pressure finally BLEW the connection off and when I came home water was blowing everywhere! I decided to invest another couple quarters and went for the DELUXE! All metal and BOY what a difference! Buy this one- you'll be MUCH happier in the long run!

Quick and easy fix for the "pistol" end of the hose that cracked and started leaking. Installed in under 1 minutes and no leaks. I would not reccomend leaving the water on with any style water nozzle connected so that pressure can "build up." This fix will make your hose brand new again but since this is a "mend" the pressure build up from leaving the spigot on with something attached to stop the water flow could potentially cause it to leak. I have had no problems so far. FYI - measure the inside diameter of your hose (this mender works on hoses from 5/8" - 3/4" in diameter)
