For most of us, the need for wrenches larger than 1" is quite small (I know, truck and farm implement mechanics will disagree). I worked on aircraft for years and large fasteners are few and far between. BUT, we still encounter them from time to time. So do we pruchase expensive add-on sets. I would suggest no. This set has many useful sizes for a very attractive price, a price that will not have you asking "why did I buy that?" (I have several sets sitting in the bottom of my rollaway about which I ask that question). One complaint, the set does not include a 1 3/16 wrench. All of the tool manufacturers ignore that size. But, in my world, that size is needed to remove the dipstick tube from a Lycoming O-360 engine. Very expensive wrench to find, I wish it had been in a Craftsman set. "Sacreamento" Bruce Conklin

I use these to service some of my 1970's garden tractor equipment and occasionally to turn a threading die. They are used as part of my roll-away tool set in my workshop. Sometimes they come in handy when I need to install or remove a trailer hitch ball also. Open end wrenches are a big help when you have to slide the wrench straight in.
