This saw is junk. I've used it a handful of times and it's been to SEARS REPAIR longer than I've run it. Now it's broke again for the 4th time!! Hard to start, No power, stalls. They even put a new carb on and after running it to cut a few logs it dies, it won't even turn the chain when it's sitting on a log!!!! Cuts a half blade in and stalls or stops the chain. OMFG!!! They better give me a new when or PREFER money back .Worthless! SEARS is going downhill on a fast track!
First one was not operating properly. "Brake" seized and would not release. I had to waste the gas and oil I had put into it already and then waste time getting a replacement. This isn't the first time I've had to return lawn tools to Sears. My time is valuable too. The replacement saw works great.
Please don't buy this saw it will only leave you in misery. We should've turned around and took it back to the store as soon as we pulled it out of the box we noticed that the handle wasn't attached because craftsman didn't drill a hole for the other side of the handle. The chainsaw was hard to start, wouldn't stay running. The chain was falling off when it's tight. Wouldn't idle, starter rope had a retainer screw striped out then starter rope wouldn't retract. Changed the number of drive lengths so, we were out a$130 for the old chains that we had from another craftsman. Buyer
I used it the day I got it to cut down low hanging branches at the house that I just bought. It worked just fine with no problems at all. I plan on using it to cut firewood for the winter.
I have used it allot and it runs great. Really good power. But after the first use, the chain slipped. It is a low cost chain on a beast. So i replaced the chain with a better one, it again is running good.
The saw has a small issue with leaking bar oil when it sits around, but considering it's price and the other nice features (20" bar, auto bar oiler, ease of start..) I don't have a big issue with it. Just gets the case a little messy at times.

From out of the box this chain saw was a problem. I have owned it less than 2 months with a second trip to Service Center. They claimed the fuel was contaminated. If it was it was a bad batch of new Craftsman fuel! I own many Sears products. However this one, I 'do not' recommend!
Used 2 tanks of fuel sofar cutting trees bigger then the bar. Decent power but you cant force it through the big stuff.. 16 to 18 inch pieces cut great. Looking at the muffler its from a major manufacturer would guess the saw is made for sears bye H
Just bought this for my son and it works great. It's an extra bonus to have a case so you can easily store or transport it to different locations. Only bad thing so far is that the day I picked it up it came down another $10:(
