I was concerned when I bought this saw because of the reviews. I am glad I took the chance. This saw has more power than my Poulan Pro 295 (42cc). It is finicky like all the saws I have owned until it warms up. I would think you wouldn't have that issue with a Stihl. This saw is fine for the average home owner or weekend warrior.
This is my second Craftsman 20" chainsaw. I like my old one better. It was 5cc larger and the pull start was spring loaded for easier starting. The only reason I purchased the new saw was to have an operational saw while I fix the old one. The new one is nice and I do like how the scrench tucks into the handle, but I like my older model better.
Bought this last week after an older chain saw I had stopped working. Was a little skeptical about the craftsman based on some reviews that I read. It performed better than I had expected. I have trees on my property that I am starting to clear.....each about 12-36 in. in diameter. This chain saw cut through them like butter. No issues at all. Great buy for me.

Bought this saw last weekend after a big ice storm that hit Paris Texas that wreaked havoc on lots of trees. I use stihl at my job but let me tell you this saw definitely would give it a run for the money. And for 200 bucks there's no way to go wrong. We cut up around 40 trees in a 4 day stretch and she held up like a champ. We worked the muffler off of a Homelite saw and a Ryobi that we bought from ********** gave up after about an hour of use. This thing starts up and runs perfect every time so far. I probably put close to 40 hours on it so far. Hopefully it holds up like everything else craftsman that I have at home. If not it's got a 3 year extended warranty.
