Thanks for the tips
I bought this combo the other day. I reviewed the comments about the frame. Before I even started loading it, I flipped it over and removed the casters and put a couple of oak strips along the back and front. I added a center caster to it and then remounted the left and right ones. It seems like you could crush the box and not hurt the casters. Probably overkill for my setup, but it seems pretty ok. I unpacked the top box the night I got it and it looked like a forklift had crushed it. I took it back the next evening and the guys there replaced it without even a whimper. They were apologetic. My experience has been very positive. The boxes look great and everything fits. I did line the drawers before I started though. I think they should come lined. Ken

Poor Experience
I purchased this cabinet to keep my tools in my hanger. While rolling it across the floor, a seam in the floor caught a wheel, which bent. This buckled and warped the frame of the cabinet. I Emptied it, drove it to my local SEARS, and they refused to even go out and look at it. Apparently there is no warranty on tool boxes, and no satisfaction guaranty. Needless to say I am NOT satisfied, and should have bought a SNAP-ON. Poor Service!

Useless when the locks fail and you can't get your tools out!

I've had this box for about two years and tonight the lock broke as I was cleaning up for the night. The box is worthless when you have a 20 year collection of tools locked inside. I'll stop being cheap and start buying Snap-On or Mac tools.

Great Tool Chest!

I bought this last year for 50% off! In that time, I've been happy with it, hard to beat for the money! Sure, you can buy better/other brands, but the price difference wasn't worth it to me (@3-5 X $). I had looked for over 3 years at different makes and sizes, this was the best "bang for the buck" that I found. Exceeds my needs for the home shop. Solid feel and well constructed. Ball bearings and griplatch are great also. Helps projects stay organized, tool drawers serve as shelves while working I wish Craftsman would make a MIDDLE CHEST with a wide drawer for this chest. Some of my larger tools won't fit into the drawers. Made in Mexico.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Value

There are superior storage units out there, but you'll pay a lot more for them. I bought this chest when it was on sale for 50% off. You'll pay 2-3 times that price for the same storage capacity on a professional grade unit from another company. The griplatch / ball-bearing drawers are a must. No telling how long those plastic glides will last. If you're a weekend mechanic and you're looking for a lot of storage, pick this unit up! I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because one of my drawers doesn't roll smooth and the casters could be heavier duty. Nothing else wrong with it though. Prob won't get the drawer fixed.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

my Best tool box ever

I bought the 52 griplatch toolbox. I am VERY happy with it. The drawers are smooth and strong, the box has tons of storage space, and the finish is good. Is it a 5000 dollar snap on box? NO but it is Very good and strong, and you can afford to buy alot of good tools with the cheaper price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good enought I own two !

I purchased my 1st 52" 14 Drawer in 2009 ( Forest Green ) for under $800.00, the 2nd unit I purchased in 2012 as part of the combo with the top ( Black )  Honestly, if there are complaints - you need to step back and realize what you could/would have to pay to get a better box. I enjoy that I use these carts as my tool bench on top, and that several drawers are deep enought so drills and full containers can be put away.  I would have liked to had an option of going deeper drawers, and would add a more stable platform. If your going to roll yours around- you'll appricate the Griplatch system, it's just much better than seeing a drawer move open.

Overall
great box, even better to build on

got this box about a year ago with the top chest as well and have absolutely loved it.  the drawers are ridiculously easy to open and close, much better than the s***-o* slidelock drawers.  and whilst i have weighed it down considerably it still rolls aroud quite easily.   however i must add that it wasn't long before i decided I needed more space, so I purchased the 6 drawer side cabinet, which I ended up filling up quite quickly due to the thin drawers.   in leau of upgrading to a larger base box as many folks due, I purchased the 26.5 in ballbearing griplatch bottom box and sandwhiched that to my box where th side cabint had been and hung the side cabint off of that .    my cumulative box is around 8 ft long now and has plenty of room :)

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Nothing price cannot fix

I purchased a 26" Craftsman box over 20 years ago. I'm finally upgrading to a much larger set. The construction of my old box and new box are similar, but this box has the Griplatch and ball-bearing drawers. My old box has the basic slides. The ball-bearing slides are far superior. I checked the rating on the casters (item #65276); the casters are rated for 750 pounds for the set of 4. This box, empty, weighs about 340 pounds. Add the top box, at about 195 pounds, and the empty weight is approximately 535 pounds--without any tools. That leaves approximately 200 pounds for tools. Given each drawer is rated for 70 pounds of tools, and there are 14 drawers on the bottom box, the casters are severely undersized, even without considering the top box. The top box has 9 drawers and the top storage area. Did I mention that before actually checking out the rating of the casters I thought I was going to be rolling around a bottom box, top box, and side chest (extra 100 pounds empty)? Simply put, the casters are basically sized to move this combination empty. Ok with that out of the way, there is nothing that price cannot fix. I obtained this box for a low enough cost that I am happy. Adding 1/4 steel plate to the bottom, with six professional grade casters fixes the caster problem. I suspect that only slightly better construction would dramatically improve the quality of this product. Would I buy this again, for the same price? Yes. Would I recommend it, given the totality of the deal? Yes, if you are willing/able to upgrade the casters. Would I have been happy if I would have paid anywhere near the list price? No. My rating: Average for the priced paid (3 stars). Poor for list price (1 star) Bottom line: This box needs to be made from higher quality materials or priced much lower.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Tools

I love Craftsman tools, I won't buy another brand. I have many Craftsman tools from my father and grandfather, some over 50 years old!
