Product Description

The Craftsman 54” Riding Mower is the Ultimate Yard Utility Vehicle

There’s no yard too big or too wild for the Craftsman complete start garden tractor. With three steel blades working in concert, this riding mower cuts a clean swath 54 inches wide. Air induction mowing technology improves air flow in the heavy-duty steel cutting deck that ensures a clean, consistent cut every time with a minimum cut height of one inch and maximum four inches. It’s simple to adjust, too, with the easy-to-reach fender-mounted adjustment handle. You’re going to get the lawn trimmed faster, too, thanks to a 724cc two cylinder Briggs & Stratton® engine producing 24 horsepower with a top cutting speed at 7.5 miles per hour. That type of power connected to the super-smooth hydrostatic automatic transmission, and the acreage will be done in no time. Its 48 inch wheel base and Turn Tight feature that gives that provides a six inch turning radius helps keep this tractor nimble and take up less space in the garage.

Even starting the Craftsman 54” riding mower is easier with the Craftsman Complete Start™ that eliminates the need for keys so there’s no more sitting around wondering where you put the keys last weekend. The Complete Start system also makes leaving your tractor unattended less risky. With all the speed, power and security, there’s also operator comfort thanks to cruise control for the long runs, an ergonomic steering wheel, sliding adjustable mid-back seat with padded arm rests and integrated cup holder. Mowing the estate has never been easier or cushier. Just hop on, stomp on the gas and tame the yard that’s been taunting you.

  • Not only does it mow, the Craftsman complete start garden tractor accepts numerous attachments such as a snow plow, snow thrower, tiller, bagger and aerator
  • A deck washing system lets you attach a garden hose to the deck and clean away grass clippings to keep your tractor operating and top efficiency while keeping your garage cleaner, too
  • The riding mower’s speed, power, transmission and comfort makes it perfect for hilly terrain along with mainly flat yards
  • The all-steel frame is stamped for rigidness and durability. The front axle is cast iron for superior performance and longevity
  • This garden tractor has heavy hauling capabilities with 24 horsepower and infinite gears in forward and reverse on the hydrostatic transmission
  • Large front and rear tires help protect your lawn while you’re working

Great Tractor
When looking at "garden tractors" you don't have many options for not spending a lot of money. This tractor is a perfect balance between value and potential. It has a host of attachments and a transmission that can actually handle them. The transmission is far superior than your 100 series **********'s and other craftsman models. If you are looking for something better than a mass merchant home store but can't afford a $6000 entry level garden tractor from and equipment store this is the tractor for you.

Drives like a truck once it's repaired
Purchased an earilier version of this tractor. After five service calls and three months after purchasing it, got the tractor to work properly. Steering is very hard, a little louder than other tractors. Cuts the lawn well, but not evenly - just looks shorter- rough cut. On the good side, starts well and is fast. Currently use it for picking up leaves in the fall.

Awsome tractor

I just bought this tractor and truly love it! I can mow in about half the time it took me to mow using my Craftsman YTS3000 46 inch cut law tractor. Also the ride is smoother with the G5500 since the tires are bigger it absorbs bumps and ruts better. I will be getting a blade for clearing the snow in the winter months. My tractor currently has 6 hours on it without a problem.

Best garden tractor in its class

I have been eyeing this tractor for a few weeks now and have been reading some reviews of comparable models. This tractor is top of the line Craftsman model. This thing has torque like no other rider or tractor I have had in the past. This one is replacing my 2010 YT3000 which is still a good rider just too small for my needs. I hope long run this one continues to be a good unit but, so far no problems. Starts quickly, runs smooth, idles smooth.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Junk

Save your money. Sears mowers are now all garbage. I was only able to return mine because store I where I purchased allowed it, SEARS Inc did not and I know why. Wheel fell off after 5 weeks, no grease in bearings from factory! turning radius a joke, height adjustment gauge was just for looks - ****,****,**** machine. spent my money on real mower. more expensive for my 5 acres but SOOO GLAD... if i can save one person from my awful experience...
