Two Problems
I recently added the Craftsman Nextec 320.17562 12 Volt Lithium-Ion Right Angle Impact Driver to my collection of Craftsman power tools. The tool came in packaged kit, item number 9-17562, with battery, charger, 3 nut driver bits, 1 screwdriver bit, manual, and carry bag. This right angle impact driver will be good for smaller nuts, bolts, and screws in tight spaces. The tool works good but the Forward/Reverse button moves much too easily. Just inadvertently lightly touch the Forward/Reverse button with your finger and it moves to where you do not want it to be. Consequently, it is impossible to reliably lock the trigger so the motor will not be accidentally turned on while handling the tool. This is not a good situation. When putting in or removing an insert bit one is prone to accidentally touch the Forward/Reverse button unlocking the trigger and thus you can easily wind up activating the tool when you do not intend to. It has already happened to me. To be safe you must remove the battery. Others have also mentioned this problem. I looked at another one of these Nextec Right Angle Impact Drivers at the local Sears store and it had the exact same problem. Are they all that way? I would like to fix this problem. Thinking there might be something out of place, faulty, or broken inside, I removed the 9 screws holding the tool's housing or covers together so I could take the covers off to see if I could find out what the problem is. However the covers seem to be glued together at the front of the tool below the trigger, just above the battery. There seems to be a trace of rubber-like glue in that area between the covers. There is a screw there so why would the covers be glued together at that point and only at that point? Not wishing to risk breaking any plastic trying to separate the covers I gave up and put the 9 screws back in place for the time being. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I would like to know what others have discovered. Also, the LED light does not come on until the motor starts. It needs to come on just before the motor starts when you lightly pull on the trigger so you can see to get the bit into the ****** screwhead. Were it not for the Forward/Reverse button problem and the LED light problem this would be a great tool. I also have the Nextec 320.10003 Drill/Driver, 320.61189 Impact Driver, 320.10005 LED Work Light, and 320.2966 Fluorescent Multi-Purpose Work Light and find these all to be fantastic, 5 star tools. There are no problems with these tools.

Great for tight spaces

I needed to drill out a starter bolt that broke off UNDER the engine of my inboard motor in my boat. Had tight space between the motor and boat hull. Using this along with impact drill bits which are short also and a mirror to see under the engine. I had the entire bolt out and boat back on the water in less than an hour. Saved my vacation and made the entire family happy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great value for an impact driver

This impact driver is great for most household impact driving tasks. Because of its right angle head, it also allows work in compressed spaces.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman Nextec 12.0 Volt Right Angle Impact Driver

Have it over a year now but don't use it too often. Small size and has good power. It is very easy to carry around and is great for use in a tight space. Because of the handle design, you need to use the other hand to push behind the driver head to apply any force.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
