Excellent Addition
If you get this with the workbench, do not tighten the bolts on the workbench. I got the full set up and had to put in and take out the same bolts over and over. It is fairly sturdy and looks great. I have a 22" flat screen mounted to mine. A little work with a hole saw for connections and a tv can be mounted flat on the pegboard. I had the vision in my head, but the final product exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended. If you found this review helpful please click the icon.

Not sure it's worth the trouble
A pain to install. Not a great design. No switch on the light. It could have been better for the price.

Poor quality, frustrating assembly and NO ON/OFF SWITCH

The workbench and under-cabinet were, in themselves, extremely frustrating to assemble (and I have successfully assembled furniture, storage and cabinets from many manufacturers) but this back wall is worse. The instructions are poorly-written, the pieces are flimsy. The pegboard bows out, which is a real hassle if you get the stainless work surface, ad drilling into the stainless and screwing the back into it is very time-consuming. Worst of all, the light fixture has no on/off switch. You have to plug the light fixture into the outlet strip, so you lose one outlet and you have an ugly white cord hanging down the front of the unit.

The Finishing Touch

Nice for the price. I like the light and pegboard, however I need to make a trip to a home supply as Sears does not carry peg board hooks. I read the reviews on this before deciding to buy it. To that, my garage is on a switched circuit, so no switch on the light is no biggie for me. I also noted some complaints about the flimsy-ness around the outlet which I resolved by running an additional screw along the back into the wood top. Trap to avoid- built the legs of the back wall onto the bench as you assemble the bench or you'll be taking a lot of things apart. Also, the legs are slotted for vertical adjustment, raise them all the way up to make room for your top or you'll be doing that step over too. Hint hint... Sears provided instructions for each piece separately but does not provide a plan if you are building all the pieces together into a bench. Spend some time figuring this out before you dive in.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

good addition to workbench

I bought two of these and am very pleased with the fit-up and the look. I'm not a huge fan of peg-board because I prefer all my tools and whatnot be put away, but this unit with the integral power strip and 4' florescent light really complete the whole workbench. Assembly was a breeze and the units are sturdy. All the parts fit exactly and look great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Ehhhhh

I'm not exactly thrilled with this on my workbench. Two main reasons are that the light doesn't have a switch on it. You have to turn it on & off by unplugging it. I find it ridiculous that craftsman couldn't manufacture it with a switch. The other reason is because there is so much flex in the backwall. It would be nice if it were firmer. When I insert or remove plugs from the built-in power strip I have to put my other hand on the backwall to steady it. Kind of cheap-o feeling. I'd probably just do without this on my workbench if I could do it over.

Perfect Compainion for the 6-Foot Workbench

Easy to assemble and attach to the workbench. The only issue I have is with the power strip. I had to modify the retention clips for a better hold. Otherwise, the quality is pretty good and I have plenty of room to hang things.

steel used is flimsey. paint surface is very easy to scratch. would be better if paint was powder coated for durability. would be nice if mounted shop light could be pluged into rear of outlet stip instead of having to route power cord for light around panel front and into front of outlet. this would be a cleaner look for power cord from light.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great addition to the work bench !!!

I purchased the black work bench with stainless steel top, black back wall, & platinum drawers for underneath. Overall, I'm really impressed with how well everything looks and fits together. I've compared several benches with back walls and nothing compares to this one. Once fully assembled everything is very sturdy & secure. Once its fully assembled and leveled its really solid. If the light would have included a switch I would have given this 5 stars. As for the pegboard being flimsy, the metal itself is very sturdy on its own. Screwing the bottom into the work surface really adds rigidity also. As for the hooks hanging on it you do have to purchase the correct size hooks for (1/4) pegboard. If you purchase the 1/8 size, they are slimmer and will definitely fall off during use. Purchase the thicker 1/4 size & also used the plastic covers that hold the hooks to the wall and that really helps. Also screw down any of the teal plastic organizer trays like sold at HD.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Directions (poorly written) no on-off switch

The module drawers had a mistake shown in the directions.  When putting in the hardware it is backwards.  Several people looked at them agree, the directions are wrong.  Had to disassemble the top from the frame to install backwall.  Wish I knew that up front.  And finally no on-off switch.  Come on man, it would not be that much $ to add it.  I expect more from a Craftsman product.  Overall, once it's completed it does what I expect and looks good.
