This is just a work surface, not a complete work bench as pictured. Coupled with the sparse description this is misleading. An arrow in the image would clarify this matter.

Very satisfied with my stainless steel work surface. I have owned it for almost a year now, and it has taken a beating. Still looks like brand new! Definitely well worth the extra for stainless.

Purchased stainless top 12/2011. Just had a bad experience with it. Be carefull of under-side edges very sharp. Still waiting to here from Sears if any solution to this problem. (3 weeks). Is a nice work top other wise.

This item is listed as weighing 35 pounds. That is WRONG! Your first clue is the warning printed on the box which reads "Two Person Lift." They ain't kidding. This worktop weighs 90 pounds, so if you're not planning to use it with a steel bench, you'll need to build a sturdy underpinning. Apart from that, it's a good item and will surely last longer than it takes Eddie Lampert to drive a once-great company into the ground.

I am very happy I decided to pay a little more for the Stainless top. Went on sale along with the 6' red bench so got them both and feel I got a good deal. Stainless top is over a particle board base. Corners look to be welded and it all looks seemless and smooth. Not sharp edges or imperfections. Very heavy and solid feeling. Craftsman base supports it well. Installation is as easy as putting the base where you want it mark and drill 1/8" pilot holes and then screw it together. I waxed it and now it is getting use as it should. Cleans up easy.

I have 2 of these tops. They really attract attention. I have one on my craftsman bench module and one sitting on top of a custom bench I made with 2 matching craftsman tool boxes. These are heavy, which means they are solid. Well worth the money. The stainless will scratch up, but they still look great. After all, it's a garage, it's not supposed to look perfect. I bought this workbench system on a Sunday with the assurance that it would be in and available on Wednesday of said week. I specifically asked if this was an item that had a long wait time because I know some items do. Sure enough, I got an automated call saying my items were in that Tuesday night. I rented a truck and had some friends meet me at the store. Low and behold, only one of three boxes came in. I was disappointed in the fact that I was not told the whole order had arrivied. I would not have paid to rent a truck or ask my friends to take time out of their lives to help on two occassions when I could have waited until everything was in at once. Now I am out 2 rental truck fee. Also, it's been three weeks and the rest of my items are still not in. At least I have not recieved a call. I called the store and ask to me put in touch with a manager. Said manager was "busy" and they took my information to call me back. I have yet to hear back. Normally me experiences at Sears are good but this is amongst my worst anywhere.
