Very, very happy
I didn't put 5 stars just because not being a vacuum bagging system it still takes a bit of work and understanding in order to have it working right but frankly this thing is great. I bought a brand new tractor at the sears outlets the DYS 4500 24HP from last year for just $1199, after using half day with satisfaction I realized that a bagging system was indispensable. I assembled it in 5 minutes and I found out that in order to have the maximum functionality you need to keep the blades system high. This way more air will flow-in and this will have greatly in order to avoid congestion in the tube. Yes the left bag fill first but once it is fool the second bag fills so don't need to worry about that. If the air flow is good the tubes will not get grass stuck in it. Mine attached PERFECTLY to my tractor, it is really tight. People complaining about this either have an older tractor or didn't do the right installation. When I was keeping the blades mid level I had to disassemble the tubes frequently but no no more. Grass is still short, actually looks better, I was cutting too short. In my opinion you have to have this. Your tractor will not be complete without this. I was able to pick up fresh grass as well as the grass that has been under the sun from yesterday cut. I forgot. I do have 5 acres and I cut about two with my tractor. Naturally 2 bags can be filled relatively quick but it is nothing compared to the work we had to do before.

Good bagger
The bagger and holder seem to be extremely durable but the chute itself was a little disappointing. After only using the bagger 3X the rear strap that holds the chute to the mower deck Broke off. I'am gonna call sears and see if they will replace it. They should probably make the areas where the chute has the straps metal so they won't break like the plastic did.

Make sure it fits your model

This does not mount on the LT 1500. The attachment does not line up on the mounting plate of the tractor.

Well worth it

I was concerned about a few negative reviews and the price seemed a bit high. I bought this bagger and I am very happy. It cleaned up my yard of 1/2 acre which has many huge trees around in fairly quick fashion. The raking would have involved at least 8 hours and the bagger took 2 hours, and no advil required. The installation went well, though I had a model which required the special plate (included) and the instructions were not completely clear due to being on separate pages. In any case it installed in 1/2 hour and worked fine. This is a great labor saver.

Works as Advertised. (Size does matter).

I bought this one over the 9 bushel simply because this one was in stock and I would have needed to wait a week for the bigger one. I have just over an Acre to mow. Normally I just mulch the grass, But with many large trees on my property and surrounding the leaves can be full time job in the fall. This Item works well, though it requires frequent emptying. The long side of my yard is about 80 feet by 50 feet. two passes on the 80 foot side and it was full. I mounted this on a craftsman YTS4000 24Hp. Very simple install. 4 self tapping Bolts on the back. then remove the Mulching insert and attach the lower tube to the same mounting bracket. Insert the upper tube into the collector, join the two pieces together and stretch the rubber latch over the bolt and it was done 15 minutes form unboxed to Running.

New to me

This is my first tractor with a grass catcher so there was a steep learning curve, to get me satisfied with it. You've got to maintain good airflow for it to perform, some air bleeds out of the soft bags but when they're full, might as well be hard sided as far as airflow is concerned, so I don't allow the last bag to fill with grass completely. The air screen on the right side of the bag hopper MUST be kept clean to do a good job, I keep a claw hammer on the footboard so every pass, I can reach back and tap the side of the hopper, jarring grass loose. Every other yard mowed, I also use a strong cleaner and high pressure water to wash this screen. I keep the bags washed as well. If you have shrubs or trees that you back up against, it can release the lid so you've got to keep an eye on this, grass will blow out and not in the bag if it comes loose. I DO like how easy it is to slip the upper hopper housing off the tractor, it simply slides over an affixed wedge frame and is rock solid, but slip the bags out, wiggle the hopper while lifting and literally takes 3-4 seconds to set off and clean, or use the tractor without the obstruction of the hopper. Takes less time to put back on!! I've got just over 400 hours on the tractor, bagger has been used on it 97.5% of the time. I also use gator blades on the tractor which finely chops whatever you're mowing, this makes keeping air passages clean more important.

Nice design...

Unfortunately this was not correct model for my 2013 mower LT2000 but the simple design with 4 hole mount is much simpler than the correct bagger. Many less part. Nice design though.

works great

we bought this with the lawn tractor and used it as soon as the tractor was delivered. Ii makes the lawn look fantastic, completely manicured and no clippings. Since the grass has gotten very high this was a very big help.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Cheap plastic that will fail over time

I purchased this bagger unit along with a 42" lawn tractor. It worked as expected, although it is difficult to attach to the mower deck. After two years, the strap holding the two pieces of the chute broke and had to be replaced. It was only a $6.00 part but cost nearly $15.00 to procure because it is only available through shipping. When the unit was 30 months old, the plastic around the handle that keeps the cover closed began to crack and rip, and now will not clip and stay closed, allowing the grass to blow everywhere. When I found out the cover cost over $95.00 to replace, I began keeping it in place with a bungee cord. Since the lawn tractor is also falling apart after only three years, I'm just waiting for the next thing to go wrong.
