I have a half dozen of these clamps and think they are terrific. Easy to use and are very powerful compared to similar products.

This clamp is worth spending the 2 or 3 dollars more than other brands for a 6 inch clamp. The main reason is that the head is reversible and it then can be used to apply pressure to two opposing pieces. Also, the way it ratchets forward (tight) and backwards (loosen) is extremely helpful so you do not have to use two hands to remove this clamp from the work piece. Well worth the couple extra dollars and it has the "Craftsman" name on it. So, if you were able to break it (within 1 year), you know you will have no hassles having this tool replaced at Sears.

This product is fantastic. I have these in 3 different sizes and will likely buy more. I have a few from ************** that are cheap, provide very little pressure, and constantly bend, twist, and break. The cheap plastic internals is what you get for a $5 chinese made product. These are strong, have metal internals, and the plastic of the handles and exterior feel heavy and well built. I build speaker cabinets that often require long reach clamps that can hold glue only bonds tight and these are excellent. Highly Recommended!!

I saw these go on sale for half price which was a great value, actually saw it several times, but my local store never had them in stock. Finally I asked for a raincheck, and was able to purchase two of them when they became available. Im very happy I waited, as you cant beat these at $7.49 each. The quality feels nice, and they dont budge when tightened onto your project. I do hope the plastic handles will last over time. One of my next purchases will be a couple of the larger sizes since I like these so much.

The Craftsman line of bar clamps are by far the best clamps I have used. It is literally like having another hand when you are on the job. No more twisting and tightening, just pull the release, lock it in place, and tighten the grip on the clamp. It is really easy and quick. This clamp was perfect for me when I was installing a tongue and grove wooden ceiling. My boards were not straight (they never are) and I needed that extra hand to push the boards all the way together to make my seams tight. With this clamp, I was able to tighten it to the right amount, walk away, and nail in the other side of the board. The clamp did fall once from a height of nine feet, and the handle cracked. I went back to Sears, (the warranty is only one year) and the nice people there gave me a brand new one, no questions asked, even though is was older than one year! The clamp also has rubber grips so it wont mar up your project. I also use this clamp constantly to fix broken toys from around the house, it just works great, and it is easy to use. Best advice is to buy big. The size at first looks big, but it only clamps on 6 inches.

I was a bit sceptical when buying this clamp as they were fairly low priced. After using them however I found that they are every bit as good as well know brand name clamps such as Erwin. The reversible feature came in real handy when I was installing wood flooring on my ceiling in lieu of drywall. The last few rows of wood could not be tapped in place with a hammer but the clamps expanding feature provided the neccIssary pressure to seat the boards before nailing

I am a woodworker and I use a lot of clamps time to time. I use "pipe clamps" a great deal as they are the most versital in my small shop. I change the length of the pipe to accomidate my needs. However, I do use small clamps from time to time and now whenever I need a smaller clamp, it will be the Craftsman Mini Bar Clamp. My duaghter purchased my first two this past Christmas. I was hooked. I recently purchased 4 additional clamps of a slightly larger size and 2 more of the smaller size. Those 8 clamps have been a "Godsend" for me with the construction of a 3 in 1 bed I am making for her. The clamps, clamp tight and stay tight and are easy to release. Don't let the stylish appearance fool you. They are not only the best looking clamps in my shop, but I now reach for them more than any other clamp I own or use. I used to say that a clamp was a clamp was a clamp, no more, this baby is "The Clamp" hands down. The only "con" I can see with clamp, is that I don't have enough of them in my shop.
