Bought a pair of these to hold down a cutting jig we use for our pen making and they are fast to deploy and release! Just what the doctor ordered! They hold firm and don't slip like some cheap ones I replaced with these! So glad I did!

When you go shopping for clamps, and if you work much with wood you will always be shopping for clamps, you'll find hundreds of products offered. They range from high quality (read: rediculously priced) to low quality clamps that are better left on the store's shelf. To help make your purchase decision easier, try to have a clear understanding of what function you will use your new clamp for. For example, is your new clamp going to be used for glue-ups of butcher-block cutting boards or do you simple need a handy helper to hold a bench tool or workpiece in place? I purchased a pair of this Craftsman Clamps for the latter purpose. I found it much easier to cut, rpute and sand a workpiece when I wasn't having to concentrate on holding the board in place on the bench. I have to say that they excell in this function! I am particularly fond of the trigger style adjustment feature. This allows me to operate the clamp with only one hand. That's a real plus, because as you know, around the shop you can never have enough hands. I know what you are thinking. Other companies make clamps of this type and some are even cheaper. Notice that I used the word "cheaper" not less expensive. The lessor offerings that I have found are all much lighter made. They have a tendency to twist when pressure is applied and their opening and closing operation is not nearly as smooth. At the end of the day, you'll need to decide what product best suits your needs and budget, but in my opinion, if you want a clamp that will perform as intended for years of woodworking, you can't beat this clamp.

While I have (and use) all the other sizes in this Craftsman Bar Clamp series, I find myself reaching for this efficient, easily secured, smaller size Micro Bar Clamp more than any other. I use them all along the perimeter of projects on which I require clamping, and have a half dozen of them. They're so handy, however, I'm going to double that number very soon. I call 'em my Little Workhorse Clamp Champ!

I use these quick release clamps constantly. Very easy to use and the red color makes them easy to find in the piles of tools and scraps that accumulate on my workbench. I use them so frequently that I'm ordering more of them in multiple sizes.
