Great for dado "glue-ups."

I use this product quite freguently with both my table and radial saws. If the purpose of cutting a dado with this product is for a glue up, then the somewhat "semi-rough" surface it creates works perfect and greatly aids in the strength and holding power of the glue. But on the other hand, if one is wanting to create a perfectly flat bottom dado or groove, than using a router or router table would be the recommended method of doing so. I find That using different tools for different functions rather than using one tool for all of the functions lessons the probability of frustration, waste, time and money. The one big attraction about this product is it's price. One having to spend hundreds of dollars on a competitors version of this product is both totally wasteful and needless. I totally recommend this product in both the 6" and 7" versions.

Does NOT fit some models of Craftsman 10" table saw.

Advertised to fit Craftsman 10" table saws. Well, it doesn't. It fits SOME Craftsman 10" table saws. Now I get to go through the lovely return policy. If it does NOT fit ALL of your models just say so. Then you can list which saws it fits.

I used this for ship lap joints on my table saw and it held up to completion of my entire garage wall siding for pine boards.

Great Blade, Great Price

Used the blade on a table saw to cut .5?x.33? channels for wire. Works great. One thing to keep in mind, your width of the dato might be limited by the length of your arbor. I would buy it again.

Overall

Makes good clean cuts

The Craftsman 6 in. Dado Set Makes good clean cuts. I got this set a couple of months ago to use on my table saw that I got as a gift & used it to make my first dado cuts on a storage shelf & book shelf that I was making for my work shop. I had never cut dado before was really unsure of what I was doing, but after doing some research and doing a little reading, I was able to make those cuts for my shelves like I someone that actually knew what they were doing. I liked how clean & straight they looked & they fit just how I measured them. Those cuts allowed me to make some solid joints for my shelves & I wanted to do more with them and my table saw. I am pretty green at wood working and just barely took up the hobby a few months ago as kind of theropy for me. I am liking wood working more and more every day. Make sure you have a 5/8" arbor so that they will fit your saw. With the blades and chippers spaced properly, there was no tear out on my project and left a nice clean cut. I have also used the 6" dado set to make some tenion cuts for some slats that I was needing for another project and again, the dado set made nice clean cuts. Zero clearance table saw inserts will make your project work a lot easier, something I first learned the hard way. The 6" dado set comes with 2 outside 1/8" cutting blades, one 1/16" chipper and 2 each 1/8" chippers all total for a combined cutting width of 1/2" on a 10" table saw. The blades are made of durable steel and they are tempered and heat treated which will ensure they stay sharp for a longer period of project use. A list of typical joints that can be cut with the 6" dado set are: box corner joints, corner laps, half gain rabbit, straight lap, mitered box corner, dados, half lap miter, dado joints, notch joints, tee lap, cross lap, half gain dado. Keeping the blades clean and rust free and stored properly to keep them from being damaged will ensure that the dado set will last you for many projects to come. As I said earlier, I am pretty green at wood working, but learning every day as I go & learned a lot using this dado set and making some pretty neat projects that I thought I would never be able to do on my own. I know that I am in good hands with good quality tools from Craftsman and that frees my thinking to my project and not having to worry about if I got a good tool or not. I would recommend this 6" dado set to anyone with a 10" table saw with a 5/8" arbor and wanting to make some pretty awsome cuts for your projects with a dependable tool.
