When it initially worked, it performed well. However, after using it for less than 5 times, the "pumping" mechanism started leaking oil, and the automobile (a Toyota RAV4 -- relatively light vehicle) I had raised with it started lowing itself to the ground. (Thank goodness for the "minimum height limit" of the hydraulic jack, or else the auto would have been resting on the ground.) Oil ran out like a slow artery bleed. Would not jack up anything after that. Took it to a local Sears -- the warranty have expired and, due to safety concerns, they indicated that it is not to be repaired. I am now looking for a more stable/safer product.

The stroke of the piston on this jack is so short that watching paint dry is quicker than jacking with this jack! I have a 30 year old smaller bottle jack (Craftsman also) that has more than twice the piston length making jacking quick by comparison. This is a very poorly designed jack! I returned it!

I bought this jack because i needed to hold my CRV. So i want to be safe and liff it faster. So far it is working fine, someone mentioned of the jack lowering by itselft when lifted. Remember you need jack stands to hold it and to be safe under the car. so, just lift it and hold it with the stands to be safe

The only positive thing is that it can be replaced at sears.

Functions more smoothly than the one that came with my vehicle. I prefer the jacking mechanism to the crank style the stock one came with. I should have replaced the old one with this one years ago!

I purchased two of the Craftsman Professional 6 ton Hydraulic Jacks for use with a used 5th Wheel RV I recently bought. The first use was to remove the wheels in order to purchase new tires. I removed one wheel from each side of the RV, took them to the tire store to have the new tires mounted. Then brought them back and reinstalled the two wheels. Next I removed the final two wheels and carried them to the tire store for mounting, then reinstalled. This saved me from having to pull the RV to the tire store on questionable tires. The Craftsman jacks were steady and strong and worked well for my chore. They are compact and easy to store in the RV.

Outstanding quality. Best Jack I have ever used. I would recommend this Jack to anyone who needs lifting power and a compact size.

This jack worked great for about 6 months ( used 10 to 15 times). It started to leak oil and became not usefull.
