Nice tripod
I recieived the 66in tripod today. I bought this tripod for photography and camcording. I had an X-mart tripod before. First thing that took me by surprize was the weight of the box (heavier than I expected). I found the tripod well packed, still in the bag along with the manual. I really like all the features. The tripod comes with its own durable carrying case. On the tripod is a tough handle for carrying. The legs extended with a sliky smooth motion. The swivel is tight, and moves freely so you can do fine adjustments. There is a bubble level on the head which will ensure whatever you are using it for to be right on the money. Crank style handle to raise and lower the head works nicely. This product is an excellent example of what you expect from Sears. The tripods at the local X-mart don't even come close to this bad boy! I know I will get plenty of years use out of this tripod. I bought this online through Sears.

Flimsy
When I first set it up I knew it reminded me of something but it took a while to figure out what it was. It reminded me of those Bobble heads that people put on their dashboards. Every joint in the head has play in it no matter how tight you try to tighten the knobs and as a result the level "bobbles" around. Very poor design in my opinion. The legs are fine but the head has a problem. The only good thing was that it was inexpensive.

New version not as good as the old one

The new version of this tripod is 60 inches and is not as sturdy and does not have a carrying handle like the 66 inch model it replaced. the new model and old one have the same item number, so if you are lucky enough to find the old model/version(66 inch tall) get it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Ok tripod; probably above average for the money

First I want to admit that this is my first tripod.

Everything does tighten down good except for the tilt (controled with the handle) which was just a little tight for me so I lubercated...too much, my fault. The quick release bracket that goes on the camera is nice but does take a little time to remove the bracket from the camera. (You can get a few extra inches if you narrow up the base a bit (not as stable though)).

The legs flex a little. I wouldn't recomend this tripod for a very expensive camera, especially coupled with outdoor enviornments (especially strong wind).
I am comfortable using it outdoors on days when the wind isn't strong with my $850 camera.

I wish it had a level...

My biggest disapointment: the handle pictured (opposite side of crank) was NOT included. The tripod is still functional without it but I am very disapointed that the product would vary so much from the pictures online. False advertising.

If I had paid something like a $100 I would be very disapointed (mainly in the leg strength and stability on a windy day) but considering the price I really can't complain. This is definatly worth the money and meets my purposes.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent bang for the buck

I looked at many tripods, even bought and returned. This one is very sturdy and well built for the price. An excellent tripod. It functions smoothly and the leg locks tighten snug. Holds whatever you put on it sturdy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great value

This tripod is great. Its height extends taller than I would have thought, which is great. My significant other's only gripe is that he wished it had a leveler on the head that holds the camera, although there is a leveler for the tripod itself. I don't think it takes away from the value of this tripod though. I would highly recommend it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Fantabulous

This is a great tripod ... worth much more than its low price of $ 29.99! I specially like the removable head for attaching the camera to the tripod ... great idea ... saves a lot of awkward time loss in trying to attach the camera! I also am pleased to see that someone actually put a carry handle on the tripod, and having a case to put the tripod into is a great plus as far as I am concerned. Everything tightens down so that you have a sturdy level shooting ... yes, it actually has a level. LOVE IT!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
