I am on week two with my nextec 12v impact driver. The tool is great, Its light, compact, powerful and balanced. The only problem I have is the collet has way too much slop when you install attachments. Somewhat problematic when using. There is some kind of manufacturing defect with this tool. No other impact drivers on the market have this problem. I hope Sears is looking into this.

This is a great, all-around versatile tool that I constantly use. I have used it for auto repair and maintenance, all kinds of DIY projects, and as my primary fastener driver professionally. Plenty of power, will strip 1/4 inch and smaller fasteners, be careful, it is powerful! Very lightweight and the housing is tough. I highly recommend this tool for all of your smaller fastener driving needs.

Great little tool. Used it first thing to build a wooden shelving unit for my garage. Could run about 50 screws before needing a charge. The 30 minute charger is a great time saver. Love the quick connect for different bits. I would definitely recommend this tool.

I love all my Nextec tools!! This 12 volt impact is great for assembling furniture as well as working on my truck.. It has plenty of power to drive screws and bolts into whatever you are working on. I like that Sears has made it possible for me to purchase this without a battery. It makes it more cost effective for me, and I don't have ten different chargers and fifteen batteries sitting on my shelves. I like that Craftsman has kept this series of tools around, they fit nice and are the best 12 volt tools around!!

Love this drill and the entire Nextec line. Got this drill for my work. Hanging stainless steel panels in a hospital and this drill punched the screws right through it without a problem. Plus the fact that the battery can fully recharge in 15 min. This drill is a must have. I'm in the process of buying the entire Nextec line. I love it!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this because it's light weight and smaller than the 19.2 volt models. I've used it a few time and I'm very happy with it's performance. For only 12 volts it does a good job.

A lot of brands; including Craftsman, are realizing the value of creating a variety of tools that work off the same battery platform. This saves consumers money because they don't have to buy batteries for every tool. When the tool dies, you just have to replace the tool or battery as opposed to an entire kit set. That also saves consumers money. In this case, it's the battery that makes the tool. It's reasonably priced and affordable to replace and the batteries are also the correct size and voltage for specialty tools. What is also nice about it is that you can use then with MORE tools in Craftsman brands. No other brand appears to offer the same tool diversity on the same level as Craftsman. The yellow brand doesn't seem to make a cordless orbital sander. Milwaukee does make a rotary tool similar to a Dremel in their 12 volt tool line and a rather innovative tool they call the Hackzall. In fact, Milwaukee seems to have more brand diversity in their 12 volt tool line than even Dewalt, but they still can't hold a candle to Nextec. For example, with Craftsman 19.2v and 12v batteries, you can also buy cordless stuff for yard maintainence and still use the same battery. In Nextec 12v tools you get better brand diversity in one place. All of the specialty tools you could ever want working off of one battery platform instead of several. That's what Craftsman does different with Nextec and good luck finding a similar professional brand that extends it's cordless offerings into stuff like pruners and grass trimmers and if you need more power they offer the higher voltage tools to, but at the end of the day, I don't think that I sacrificed any quality by going Nextec.
