Really neat and works really good for small stuff

I bought this item and the roto tool as well. Both impressed me for the size and price point. I have used both for my hobby and use them all the time. I was dissapointed when I found out they quit making the lineup. If they come out again I'll make sure to buy more of the tools. The rototool is handy for small tight areas and is light as well. Thanks craftsman

V4 6W soldering iron- Okay product, doesnt stand up to others

The soldering iron would come in handy for times when a corded one couldnt be used, obviously...but it has only been able to handle smaller projects. (I use 60/40 rosin core solder) Its unable to heat wires any larger than 14-16 gauge. I dont believe that it heats up to the advertised 900 degrees. Personally I also wish that there was a way to lock the power button, to heat the iron up you have to be pressing the button. It is well built though other than the tip that I have not been able to find another like it so it would need to be ordered from sears if a replacement is needed.

so... I am not very impressed with the product, in comparison to the other products in the v4 line this is probably the least productive.

I only rated it 3 stars if cordless soldering irons are the question, any corded iron would beat it hands down.
