I have an older car - 86 Buick GN, on the "stop-light-switch" there needs to be two nuts used to secure the "S-l-s" to the brake pedal, being as GM has discontinued these nuts. I was going to make my own from soft plastic which is much softer than a metal nut. The plastic had no hardened places within it, so I thought great. Well, I was wrong and in making two nuts, I ended up chipping two of the treads on the die. I retired from being an electrician for over 30+ yrs and I had never seen such poor quality as this die made in China. This does not say much for "Craftsman" or Sears in general. This was the first time I had used this set and it was less than two weeks setting on my shelf waiting to be used as a professional would do his job. So much for " China" made Craftsman dies.

The taps and dies in this kit are of good quality. The tap handles are poor quality items identical to the cheep ************** items. I was not pleased with them. I qualify my opinion as having been a machinist for 39 years

I am a diesel mechanic of 14yrs. the tap and dies are NOT garunteed. snap on is. I do not buy snapper crapper just because they are rediculously expensive, my broken ones will be replaced with snap on because sears does not warrenty taps and dies

I have been very pleased with this set. I used it the first night I got it and have been using it ever since. I would definently recommend this to anyone who wants a good, quality Tap & Die set.

I believe this is the set a purchased 15 to 20 years ago, for around $249.00. My wife went crazy, asking "Kinda pricey for a one time use aint it?" Well, I have used this set for Soooo Many things around home its invaluable. Example: Re-tapping shower housing in the wall thus preventing tearing down the tile for replcement. Great Set!! As the title says: "Gitcha One"

I purchased this tap&die set over 10 years ago and it was a great investment to my work as a Forklift mechanic. As 1995 all trucks which I worked on went metric. I would tell any person working now to purchase this set. p.s. my set is made in the U.S.A.
