Craftsman  8-in. LED Lighted Long Nose & Diagonal Pliers Set

The jaws do not close at the tip in the nose plier, .tried to return it but not possible. the attendant did not accept the return even if it is a factory fault.. no life time guarantee for the plier if it has a light. and if i did not have the receipt on hand it is worst .They have all the purchasing info in there system....never used them, very frustrating

I needed a new needle nose, spent a few dollars more on this set. Bought online, picked up at store, then opened at home to find one dead battery (out of three hearing aid style ones needed for each pliers). Sears protocol doesn't allow them to just send me a battery! I have to drive 20 miles or Sears has to send UPS to pick up the defective merchandise. On principal, I refuse to be a part of either wastefulness! As another reviewer said, it's a shame Sears cannot, or will not, save the last thing it has left...the Craftsman name...which means little to me now. Also, BTW, no, the jaws do not totally close in either pair. What a shame.

I ?m a Craftsman tool supporter of thirty plus years, and I don?t make a habit of writing reviews, however I felt compelled to do so. In the past few years the quality of the Craftsman line has dramatically degraded. And this item is just another example. When the lighted tool line first came out I laughed at it. However I now have the entire line. This is a great idea especially for old tiring eyes. (The light really does help) That being said the Linesman Pliers, Long Nose & Diagonal Pliers all suffer from the same problem??. The jaws do not close all of the way. The gap ranges from 1/32? to an unbelievable 3/32? How could the basic function of the tool be over looked? This seems to be a common problem with most of the tools coming out of China?..However I expected better quality from the Craftsman name. Come on SEARS wake up!! ?? Don?t kill off the only SEARS Brand that still has any life left in it. It?s not too late to turn this around.

purchased when they first came out .orderd online and picked up at sears. did not try lite till I went home. big mistake, needle nose lite worked but not side cutter's. opend battery cover and found green corrosion. [MADE IN CHINA ] not USA junk........................

The tool is very nice, works great. The light is so so.

They are awesome pliers, I have received the yesterday, I ordered them because I need them with light because it a great advantage, but the first thing I noticed was that the batteries were dead, and the last thing that I wanted to do is open the package and see that the light don't work, disappointed.

This is an item that is a great idea. I do a lot of fishing, sometimes at night, and intend to use them primarily while fishing. The tools seem to be of good quality. I don't know how well the electrical parts, including the batteries, will hold as yet as haven't them long enought to tell. I saw the set in the store, but none of the four they had left were had working batteries, which is kind of understandible as they may have been left on by people testing them. They really should have a automatic shutoff that can't be disabled...say shutting down after five minutes.

NICE SET AND PRICE

These are VERY handy. Delivered with a dead battery - had to take the set back to the store for an exchange. The first comment was that the lifetime warranty didn't apply to the battery, after i had explained that I had purchased them yesterday. They did make it right, though.

Just picking up one of these tools (pliers or wire cutter) you can feel right away that it was quality. Just got them for Christmas (2012) and so far I love them.
