Craftsman 8" Duckbill Pliers Provide Comfort, Power and Longer Reach

The smooth, narrow jaws of the Craftsman 8 in. duckbill pliers are perfect to have around for those delicate and hard to reach tasks.

The long-reach flat-tipped pliers feature a smooth rivet that will make it easy for you to reach into those tight areas. The forged alloy steel is heat treated to ensure strength and durability for the toughest of jobs, and serrated plier tips provide maximum grip. Handles are coated with a plastic dip that provides comfort and helps eliminate fatigue.

      • Craftsman 8" duckbill pliers give you a longer, narrower reach that other pliers don't provide
      • At 7/8" long, the jaws let you access hard-to-reach areas that require a delicate touch
      • Non-insulating handles are designed for a strong grip but are also comfortable and shaped to help reduce hand fatigue
      • Serrated tips keep your grip firm and sure while allowing for a lighter touch if it's called for
      • Built with trademark Craftsman care and quality

      Better than Snap On

I recently purchased these to replace a broken pair of Snap On pliers that I have been using for many years. I was surprised that I liked the Craftsman a lot more than the Snap On. They seem to be just as strong. However, the only thing I don't like abou the pliers like the previous reviewer noted is the way the handle is formed to the tool. These type always become loose over time, and the tool is harder to grip.

      Not the best duckbill pliers
Craftsman Duckbill Pliers Mechanically, these pliers are excellent; but they have two problems. The main issue is that the tip of the pliers tapers down to about 1/4", which is a bit narrow to be called "duck billed". The other issue is the insulated grip material too soft; it eventually breaks apart -- then you'll need to redo the grip-coating by dipping the handles in PLASTI DIP. The SK Duckbill pliers, which I also own, have neither of these problems, and are also excellent mechanically. The tip does not taper as does the Craftsman -- it's the proper 3/8" width; and the plastic grips are a harder and longer-lasting material. The two pliers jaws are serrated identically. My advice is to get the better SK pliers.

      I love these pliers

These are the best duckbill pliers that I have come across. I work on helicopters and these work absolutely wonderfully at squeezing in cotter pins and bending over pig tails on safety wire. They have a good reach. I use these pliers more often than any of my other pliers

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Quality duckbills at a good price

I needed a set of replacement duckbill pliers and while at Sears I decided to buy a quality craftsman tool. These pliers function well and there is no play in the joint. The reason I gave only 4 stars is the finish and the tool markings. The pliers are laser ink printed and will come off over usage, which concerns me if I ever have to use the warranty which is a craftsman lifetime warranty. Without the craftsman markings on it, I do not think I could ever return it if the pliers failed. The other is the finish, The pliers are rough milled finished with laquer sprayed on them. The pliers I have look like they are very old and scratched up because of the laquer peeling off. Craftsman should have the manufacturer which is Western Forge polish the pliers and put a good corrosion resistant chrome finish on them. This is causing me some re-thinking about future pliers. The pliers do function well and are a well made USA product. These two things should not deter you from getting quality tools from sears. I would buy these pliers again because they function well for my uses. These duckbill pliers are an excellent value for around $17 and a lifetime warranty is fantastic for this price. You should be happy with these pliers.

This Duckbill needs it's quack improved

I purchased these pliers about 8 months ago and they look like they are 20 years old. I like Craftsman tools alot, and do not like to say negative things about them, but western forge is really cutting corners on these pliers. The teeth are not very strong, mine have almost flattened out with normal use of about 1 hour a week total time in use or about 4 hours per month. The finish is not polished and has a spray laquer coating on them. The finish scratches very easily and the craftsman name and tool number are put on with a ink jet printer instead of being engraved into the pliers. If I had to replace them, The craftsman name is no longer on them and I doubt Sears will take it back. I have a pair of stanley pliers that looks similar. I think western forge should dip the handles the way SK or channellock does their handles. Also I noticed the rivet holding the pliers together has a lot more play than I would expect from a Craftsman Tool. I hope Sears will hire some real tool guys to head the quality assurance and design departments. I would make sure that Craftsman tool users get quality tools instead of trying to compete with china. Quality will always come out on top and Sears needs to understand that. If I want cheap tools I would buy somewhere else. To me Craftsman stands for quality and used to be very competitive with the Truck tools. What's happening? I do not know. I gave these pliers 3 stars because of the Craftsman name and the warranty. I have had to polish my pliers because of all of the scratches in them and has given them a better look.

      Never failed me

I would almost consider these a specialty pliers because I only use them in certain applications. I have never had an issue with their performance, though. Covered by a lifetime warranty.

As a Sheet Metal worker, I use these pliers everyday and they work wonderfully. Great for handling sheet metal 28GA-16Ga. Durable, and would recommend to anyone in the Sheet Metal Industry.
