I bought them to cut guitar strings, but started using them to pull staples out when I replaced screen on the porch. They worked great griping and cutting. With the Craftsman name behind it and American made, you cannot go wrong. I only buy America- made tools, especially the American-made Craftsman. I would love to see an e-coupon from Sears from taking the time to complete this review. That would be the right thing to do. God Bless you.

I like using these for basic things, like crimping or cutting wire. Use them more than my dykes, and they are designed to cut wire!!!!! Cushioned handles make it easier to really apply force and cut through or crimp thick wires. Larger size an advantage over smaller 7" ones. Covered by lifetime warranty.

This is one of those tools that eventually left my rollaway when I was working on aircraft. Too general in function, too many specialized tools available to complete specialized tasks more easily. But at home, that is a different story. This pair of pliers shines when you have a series of tasks to perform around the house. When working at home your tool storage device is always at the other end of the house, right? When I cruising the house looking for small items to tighten, loosen, or tweak I carry my trusty 3/16" common screwdriver and a pair of linemans pliers. The pliers can stand-in for tightening nuts or bolts, twisting wire for a solid electrical connection, loosening tight screws, or cutting craft wire. These pliers perform most homeowner jobs tremendously well. They can even drive small nails in softer wood (don't ask me how I know ;=} ).
