works well for them most part, but when just a little pressure is applied it bogs down and nearly comes to a stop. This was polishing stainless exhaust pipe, it does do better with softer metals/smaller parts. I tried wiring it for 220 volts and it only slightly improved the issue. For the price it is a good buy. I still use my dewalt hand held buffer for parts that make the Craftsman bog down.

Need to buy a stand seperate and the pads are a little trouble to replace, but this buffer works great, a need to have item for anyone restoreing an old vehicle, motor runs quiet and has plenty of power.

Bought this at the local Sears on sale for $ 52.00+, great price. Works good, it does what a buffer does. Just a few things: After about 20 mins on and off the motor was too hot to keep your hand on it for a few seconds. The case is made of plastic and builds up a lot of static electricity and I get static shocked when i get close to it. The nuts on the arbor are a special size (1/2-12-LH & 1/2-12 RH) available through Sears. I could not find them localy, even at the local "Bolt King" which carries odd bolt and nut sizes.

Given the reasonable price, I was very impressed by the overall quality of this buffer. I deliberated between the 6" and the 8" and decided to go with the 8" because the price difference was so small. I'm glad I went with the bigger machine. I also purchased the base and found it to be extremely beefy as well. This buffer runs quiet and very smooth.

Great product for the money. Motor is strong and did not bog down and did not over heat with long use. For now just fantastic..

I purchased this buffer a month ago. have polished many parts off an old motorcycle. have worn out one wheel and I'm one my second wheel. this is the real deal. works great. Runs fairly quiet, has enough power to keep spinning when allot of pressure is applied. It will take the part from your hand if your not holding it well. would recomend this buffer.

This unit is a great Buffer for the money. I have no negatives to present, other then if you order it, also order replacement buffer wheels as the wheels that come with it is not as good of quality as I would like.. The motor has all the power one could possible need for home shop use. You do not want to make a mistake and give the buffer an edge that it could grab, as you will not hang onto the part. Wish I would of had this unit when buffing the stainless steel for the car I restored. A big improvement over the previous unit I had. Allows for easy manipulation ofl material that your buffing. I give this unit 5 stars. I would also recommend the Buffing Yellow Wheel, 8 inch for tough jobs.
