Get the Job Done with a Craftsman 9-1/2 in. Scraper/Pry Bar

Don't judge this 9-1/2 in. scraper/pry bar by its size or assume this rather elegantly designed tool is just going to sit in your tool chest gathering dust. This tool has so many functions, you'll want it hanging from your tool belt rather than hidden inside your tool chest. Sure, you can use it to remove paint can lids, but that's a minor function of this handy tool.

This Craftsman 9-1/2 in. scraper/pry bar is made of high carbon steel for bullish power and strength. However the flat design of this tool gives you the ability to use finesse rather than brute strength to do the job. Its slim, flat profile allows you to slide it down flush behind moldings or trim and casework and then pry without damaging the wall. You can also use this tool as a paint scraper as the sharp corners on the scraper can get into narrow areas easily.

  • The 9-1/2 in. scraper/pry bar helps you quickly remove baseboards, trim and moldings
  • The pry bar has many purposes, including opening paint cans
  • Slim and flat so it can be used to slide behind trim in order to pry it off the wall without damage
  • Works great as a paint scraper and is the perfect size for lifting carpet tack strips up off the floor without undue damage
  • Made from high carbon steel, this inexpensive but versatile tool is a big help prepping rough surfaces before you start painting

Nice and flat

Many pry bars have a bend to them, which is OK for destruction work but not if you want to do delicate work. This bar is totally flat so it can slip down flush behind things like moulding or casework and pry gently without leaving a dent or hole in the wall. It's not very thick so you don't want to use it as a wrecking bar, but it is a very useful addition to the homeowners toolkit for delicate prying.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great tool for lifting carpet tack strip

Worked great for lifting a carpet tack strip around a room. It's thin and rigid enough to make the job as easy as possible. I recommend this to anyone facing a similar job.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Hand little tool

I used to work with a guy who had one of these and we initially made fun of his "paint scrapper", but this is one handy little pry bar. I purchased it because I had to remove a bunch of oak trim for a kitchen remodel and this thing works like a charm for getting it loose without damage. This is a cheap tool that will save you time and money!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

With Pry-Bars, One is Never Enough...

How many pry-bars do you have in your toolbox?

If you answered one, you probably need to make a trip to Sears before you begin your next demolition/remodeling job.

An effective pry-bar is job specific!  By that I mean there are a number of factors that go into determining if the tool you are using is ideal (or at minimum suitable) for the job at hand.

Many pry-bars are big and bulky.  They are designed to give you the maximum amount of leveraging force for prying away material.  Often times, however that isn't what you need.  Sometimes you require a slimmer, more elegant tool to get the job done,  That's where this little gem might be useful.

I commonly find this bar helpful when I am installing hardwood or laminate flooring.  Inserting the last row of the room can be a bit tricky.  You want a close fit that can be concealed by shoe mold but it is difficult to engage the tongue and groove portion to close up the gap.

With this tool, this task and many others are a snap.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great heavy duty scraper

A double-ended, solid steel scraping tool!

Excellent.

The edge is not replaceable, like the disposable lighter-duty scrapers.

But, the edges hold up longer and either end is easily sharpened.

It is also a wide and thin edged pry tool.

Very good for the careful removal of wall and baseboard molding, that will be reused.
