The small vertical vial on the torpedo level did show the same reading on both sides for two of the three levels. I am taking the two back for exchange. Maybe there will be two that are good.

This nine inch magnetic torpedo level is a great addition to any homeowner's tool box. It is compact, accurate, and I love the magnetized surface. My wife had complained that her cakes were coming out of the oven lopsided, so I used this level to set the stove level from front to back and side to side. The cakes come out perfect!!

Good level that is durable. Mine has pitch on it though. I would always go magnetic though unless you are 100% sure you wont run into metal things your going to level.
