Model# 47234 Manufactured in the USA by Armstrong Tools for Craftsman Love'em or Hate'em Craftsman raised panel wrenches have represented a value priced tool and the starting point or mainstay of many a tool box, vehicle tool kit or junk drawer in the USA for decades. This 6 point set of standard wrenches would make a nice addition to anyone's tool box. When you encounter that occasional stubborn fastener you'll be glad you have them on hand. Set includes 1/4, 5/16, 11/32, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8 and 3/4 in. The 12 pc. Set includes - 1/4, 5/16, 11/32, 3/8. 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, 13/16 and 7/8 in Better get them while they got them!

The Craftsman 6 point combination wrenches offer superior gripping ability. I particularly like the 6 point box end. This is much better than a 12 point box wrench in that it grips the fastener better and doesn't round it like a 12 point can. For those situations where you can't get a box end wrench around the fastener, the open end part can be used.

What a better way to augment one of the mechanics sets sold by Sears than to add the wrenches some of those sets need? Excellent quality that won't round off bolt/nut corners and that will fit in tight spots regardless of what you're working on makes this a great set for about any level of mechanic!

What a perfect companion set for a 15 year old who is getting his first set of tools! We got him the 200 piece set which only came with six wrenches and that just ain't enough! This set is the six point set since the car he has (1976 Firebird) has only a few places where a 12 point would be needed and I have plenty of those he can use (all Craftsman, of course!).

I just love my tool set, if it weren't for them I would never be able to finish my project I got started. I like the fact that they're warranted for life. My dad always had craftsman tools, and I'm carrying on the tradition. You can't hardly wear them out. They will probably rust over a hundren years before you brake them, if you use them for the job intended. I will continue on buying Sears Craftsman tools, thanks Sears for the number one tool.

I prefer 6pt wrenches to 12pt wrenches because of their reduced likelihood to strip a bolt head. If you really need the reduced swing of a 12pt, you're better off with a socket set anyway. (12pt wrenches need at least 30 degress of rotation while socket sets only need 10 degrees of rotation.) If you need to break a bolt free, these are probably your best bet (short of a breaker bar which is a somewhat limited use tool.) These wrenches are still made in the USA as of Dec 2010. The pictures don't show it, but the packaging states that they are made domestically, and each wrench is also forged likewise. If your budget allows, the Craftsman 8 pc. Standard Reversible Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set (part # 42404) is even nicer. I recently upgraded to those, and strongly recommend them. Those are also still made in the USA. Their only downside is that they cost substantially more than this set. If it matters to you, the regular, non-reversible ratcheting wrenches are made in China, and do not have the 15 degree offset at the box end.
