Basic Set
This is a basic starter set that has most of the sizes needed. For the price, not a bad choice. If you know you're going to get into some heavy duty repairs, you may want to go with the larger set that has more 1/2" sized pieces.

Not a bad selection of listed tools
The items listed on the box seem like a good mix of tools. However, my box was missing a few tools and had a duplicate of another. Not good QC. That said, I have a few other craftsman sets that were produced in the same country as this set, and they haven't failed me for years. So once I get the correct assortment this should easily be a 4-5 star set. Additional: this set comes with a small vinyl bag to hold the assortment of hex keys. This is a nice feature. You will want to buy a paint marker to write "THIS SIDE UP" or the like on one side lest one of your "helpers" will open it the wrong way and your tools will be in a pile. The case doesn't lock most items in place, they just have groves to rest in.

Ratchets are absolutely junk.

Not sure who is making the ratchets for Sears but they have been increasingly unreliable. Actually, I don't think the quality of the ratchets match those of **************.

Great tool set

Easy to read is correct. Makes finding what you want much easier. The case is very good for keeping all the tools in thier correct place and all together when not in use. Also makes them portable to take with you when needed.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great starter tool set

I got this tool set at a great price during sales. It is a great starter tool set that includes most of the useful sizes. It doesn't come with the socket for plugs though. One thing keep in mind is never opening the case upside down. I learned my lesson by spending minutes to put back all the sockets to their own places.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

GREAT TOOLS - GREAT BUY

I have used Craftsman tools for years. This set of Mechanics Tools is everything that I expected in the product. Easy to operate and packaged great. Fitting these into a smaller package is a plus for transporting in our car. Thanks, Sears for your continued quality!

They're Craftsman

So I know they'll last for a long time, and if they don't they'll be replaced for free.

Good in the house set

I have a workshop detached from the house where I keep my large sets. Got annoyed running out every time I needed a simple socket in the house. This set is great for in the house with 1/4" and 3/8" ratchets. Not as many filler pieces as the 'bigger' sets which prove useless, which is another reason I chose this box.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

May work for you if on sale

THE PROS: Easy to read the sizes great for older eyes or low light * the case is large and has storage space for extra tools. Still available as made in USA if you know where to look as (think Sears Outlet or Hometown). Smaller sizes 18mm down to 4mm and 13/16 down to 5/32. Nice for motorcycles, garden tractors, home appliance repair, bicycles etc. Long handle 3/8 ratchet (extra torque) plus standard 1/4 ratchet for finer work. THE CONS: The ratchets are home owner grade, though soaking them in chainsaw bar oil will help smooth them out some. The case is big and bulky for the number of sockets you get. This set has no 1/2 drive so you will not be pulling lug nuts off a 4 wheel drive truck or repairing farm equipment with these tools. All the deep wall sockets are 1/4 drive nothing in 3/8 deep not even a sparkplug socket. CONCLUSION: If you work on smaller stuff and you can find the USA made version on a good sale this set it is a steal. If you work on large equipment or have to pay near full price get a larger set with 1/2 drive like either the 154 or 192 piece set you will be a lot happier.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Super Value!

I own several Craftsman tool sets. I bought two sets before they went to the laser etched sockets. This is a great set with the easy to read sockets and two sizes.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
