Weighing 16 pounds, it rolls smoothly on five 2-1/2 inch caster wheels making it super easy to move s you can be sitting at your workbench then move to the other side of the room with little effort. The seat height also quickly adjusts up and down on a pneumatic cylinder from 14-1/2 to 19-1/2 inches via a convenient hand lever so you can get the job done quickly and more comfortably.

When it's time to get off the tired knees and straighten the aching back (but the job isn't finished), my mini adjustable mechanic bar seat is a welcome relief! Providing support for my derriere and work tools, I can maneuver around easily on the 5 wheels and set the seat height just where I need to get the work finished.
Actually, I've quickly figured out that starting my task using the stool for support, instead of kneeling all the time, helps prevent my back and knee discomfort from setting in...Built in Ergonomics! It is light enough to be very portable, but solid enough to support my medium frame. The range of hydraulic seat adjustment is excellent and the round tool tray keeps my smaller hand tools all together...Nice addition to my workshop efficiency (and Back & Knee Health)!
The Mechanics seat worked as promised, but for me (big guy) I felt like the base was too small and could tip if I hit a rock on the driveway (I live on a dirt rd. and there are usually some small stones on the driveway). I already own a Craftsman Mechanics Seat ( old school wood seat, lower profile & square) and decided it was OK for now, may just use better wheels.
Hard to find "stuff" he doesn't have. While watching him wax the cars, thought this seat would be a hit. WOW. He really likes the up-down adjustments available. Seat goes really high! He also got two dog-bones and was impressed with those and the fact that they fit on the tray of the seat. The tray is actually big enough to be useful.
when I saw the flat box this came in I was expecting it to be a complete assembly required, but I was pleasantly surprised it came in three pieces, the seat assembly, the strut, and the base. assembly couldn't have been easier, insert strut to seat bracket, insert other end of strut to base... and off you roll

Not much to say - its a stool. The swiveling is easy, there is no slop in the seat or seat post, and so far the up and down mechanism has worked flawlessly. I really like the 5 wheels - it helps the base to move smoothly. It is not very tall though, its barely tall enough for me to use at my workbench. Its the perfect height for working on things at the brake/tire level and I constantly use the base tray when working on my classic Mustang. Would give 5 stars if the post extended higher.
