O-ring Won't Last

I have had this about a year now and it start leaking bad around the bowl. After taking it off I found the O-ring to be flat. The O-ring is so skinny I couldn't find another one to replace it. So bottom-line I would have to buy a whole new unit JUST for the O-ring. NOT GOOD!

It work great. I have it fot two years and no problems yet.

The model 16008 compressor filter work great. I use my compressor and filter for almost evrything from oil change to complete paint job on my cars. I own a 30 gal compressor and additional 15 gal tank. The filter is mounted at the outlet of the smaller one. So i use the smaller to get a bigger capacity and to allow air coming from the compressor to cool down. In that way i have less condensation at the end of the hose. if water is in your line dont blame the filter. Take your time planning the plumbing. Add water traps and make sure to empty your tank every day. And remember the harder your compressor work the more condensation you get.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Sort-of Works...But you can't really Expect it to.

I bought this and used it for a year. Mine did not leak, and it did remove dirt and some moisture, but not all of it. To work as efficiently as possible, this should be installed just before the actual tool that you'll be using, NOT before the length of air hose. The problem with using this item, is that the air going into it must be cool in order for it to filter the moisture. If you're sending hot air in, which contains water in vapor form (and not in droplet form), it will not remove it, and the moisture will pass right through it. Nonetheless, it does work, a little. I wouldn't buy it for $25, though.

disappointed

I installed this filter on my Craftsman air tank. It appears that it leaks where the glass bowl meets the frame. I have re-seated it on several occasions and it still leaks. Haven't located a reason for the leak, other that the bowl seems to be slightly loose. Finally I may have gotten it seated. I will know in a few days if it still leaks. If so, I will exchange it and try one more before giving up on it.

Great buy

I actually used this on my air ride setup for my vehicle. Filter is setup between the compressor and the tank. 150psi. No leaks! My other one (rated @ 165psi) leaked like crazy. This one is rated for 175psi(not stated in the add). It also comes w/ 2 brass fittings which bring from 3/8" to ... I forgot. Anyhow, they are there, and I used them. No complaints! Thanks Craftsman! I called sears before going to the store, they had it in stock!

Doesn't Work as Promised

This In-Line filter promised filtration of air and other particles. After much use with this on my compressor, I noticed it did filter out some debris that you could see, but it did not filter out the water. I experimented with different positions and I found that it has to completely verticle to work. At that point it filtered some moisture, but moisture was still coming out of the line. Unsatisfied with performance but for the price it is worth it to give it a try.
