Great for basic work
I service lionel trains, which it works great for. If you repair hi tech stuff get a digital, but analog is the way to go for low tech, can see adjustments with the sweep meter. Did not need to spend high dollar for this purpose.

Meter Died within 6 months
This meter failed to work within 6 months of purchase. I needed to use another meter to test the battery, which was fine. I replaced the battery anyway, with no avail. Size is great to keep in your draw for quick tests on electronic equipment. Price is also great. If it only worked! By the way, keep the receipt because Sears will not replace the meter without it. I do not know if I ever kept a receipt of a Craftsman product. In the very rare case it failed, Sears always replaced it with not questions. Times have changed!

Same but different?

I ordered this multimeter online with a pickup at the store. When I picked it up - I was in a hurry and didn't look closly at the item. I had ordered a craftsman multimeter - but when I got home realized they had delivered some off-brand meter. Strange thing is that it looks exactly like this - only with a different brandname on the front. I figure it probably is the same - so I think I will keep it. So much for brand recognition and the quality behind the Craftsman name!!!

Does exactly what I want, at an affordable price

There are very few analog meters left. Everything has gone digital. I am much happier with non-digital. It's like driving a car. The speedomoter is analog in most cases. After a long search for an analog meter, Sears had it. Very few other places do. Great for hobbies and minor house work.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Analog Multimeter

Biggest bang for the buck for quick checks, leaving a low cost meter monitoring a circuit. vDigital meters have to "think," but trhis little meter tells al right now. I leave the digital meters on the bench for fine resistance checks, they are too slow for continuity checks. This meter took the work out of troubleshooting Christmas light displays.

The Craftsman analog multimeter was ideal for me.

This is the perfect analog multimeter if you intend to use it like I do; I used it to work with very basic technology (low-tech).

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I'm with that guy - Product failure

Mine stopped working after a few months, too. Maybe I didn't use it enough.
