I have not yet used this tool to cut anything, but this tool is described to make the customer feel as if it is sturdy and durable. This used to be the Craftsman image. As soon as I pulled these lopping shears out of the plastic I noticed that they are made in China. The "strong" carbon fiber handles flex and make a cracking noise when pressure is applied to them. I'm sure they work as well as other made in China shears, but shame on you Sears and Craftsman. And sure they have the Craftsman lifetime warranty, but how long will Sears be in business to replace them considering their entire line now consists of products like this?

haven't used it yet, but have another lopper that feels much sturdier.

These lopping shears are really easy to use and have great leverage. One is able to reach high places with these shears. My 14 year old loves to do yardwork with these. Highly recommended.

So far, I am very happy and well satisfied with my Craftsman Anvil Lopping Shears purchase. I got them at a great price and for all practical purposes, I believe they will serve me well. Although I've not had much of an opportunity to take advantage or make use of these shears yet, they appear to be made quite well. Perhaps they wouldn't be my first choice for performing professional shearing jobs, but then again I don't know what would be or how a pair of heavy duty professional shears would cost, but for my 5 acre parcel of land, they should prove to be invaluably handy. I'm looking forward to making use of them again this coming spring/summer. Again, for the price, I think these lopping shears are going to be pretty hard to beat.

I picked these up as a replacement to the shears I broke previouly. These shears work well so far. I say so far as I tend to break loppers on a regular basis. I usually break handles but have also shattered a blade. Any way, these are standing up to my use. I don't know what the other are complaining about as these loppers are holding up well. I don't know what size branches they are cutting but if they don't fit in the anvil loppers you should think about getting a saw. I liked them enough to get a second pair when they were a Sears "Today's Real Deal."
