My lot is about an acre and is covered with mature trees. Unfortunately, the developer logged the lot prior to starting the development. When the loggers took out the valuable trees they had little regard for the other trees that may have been in the way.
Although my trees weren't prized by the logging crew, they are treasures accordinf to my wife, The only problem us that they all have a great deal of damage and dead-wood in the tops. I have had some estimates on having the dead-wood removed but it is too expensive, It is in the thousands...
Everytime we get a spring storm, I have to perform limb removal. Sometimes this involves using a chainsaw, but more often I can cut up the debris with my bow-saw and these Craftsman Anvil Pruners. Before I bought these I owned (still do) a cheaper pair that I picked up at Lowe's. They weren't heavy enough for the type of performance I expect. Before long the pivot pin was loose and wobbly.
There sure isn't any of those problems with these Craftsman and I have the peace of mind of knowing that if they ever do break - they are warranted for life.
This Craftsman Anvil Pruner does not come up to the standards of Craftsman pruners I've used over the past 40 years. Poorly constructed of cheaper quality metal, the anvil is too narrow resulting in the blade at times bypassing it and jamming. It took two hands to unlock the pruners it was so poorly put together. The jaws do not open far enough unless it is completely open which makes for poor handling. Sears used to have an excellent pruner with the Craftsman label made by Fiskars. I see WalMart carries it now for the same price as this piece of junk.

I bought these as as extra pair because they were very reasonable but now use them as my primary pruners. They do an excellent job.

Probably enough said. The blade doesn't meet up square with the other face so it doesn't cut well without twisting. Not up to Craftsman quality at all. Will return if we can find the receipt.

Any time you can get a craftsman product for the price I got this, you can't beat it. They are very sturdy.

We bought a couple of these in the middle of Winter when they were on a super sale (about half off I think). They work well, feel good, seem sturdy.
