This Craftsman Anvil Pruner does not come up to the standards of Craftsman pruners I've used over the past 40 years. Poorly constructed of cheaper quality metal, the anvil is too narrow resulting in the blade at times bypassing it and jamming. It took two hands to unlock the pruners it was so poorly put together. The jaws do not open far enough unless it is completely open which makes for poor handling. Sears used to have an excellent pruner with the Craftsman label made by Fiskars. I see WalMart carries it now for the same price as this piece of junk.

I've had the Craftsman bypass pruner for a few years and been happy with it. I wanted to get the anvil pruner for dead brush (to prolong the life of my bypass pruner). It has an easier locking mechanism than the bypass pruner. So far I've only had to use it for rather thin branches so I'm curious to see how well it works on thicker pieces.

This pruner is well-made and durable. It cuts small branches like a charm and has a locking tab to close the pruner and keeps the blade from getting chipped.
This is my best product I have ever used to cut my plants in my backyard. I have several big rose plants which I was using with normal shears. But, this has saved me lot of time and the easy grip is very comfortable and easy to cut. I am glad to buy this product and very happy. I would strongly recommend to anyone to buy this product and hope they would not regret for buying this. Thanks sears for such a wonderful product and price !
I've ordered 3-4 of these pruners the last few years and then been great. Color of the handle does fade if left in the rain or sun, other than that it's been great
I've always preferred anvil style pruner to bypass style, find them easier to use with less binding. These are no exception, and work well, with nicely cushioned handles.

Have not used the Anvil Pruner much but used it to cut some of the rose bushes and shrubs. It handles well and feels very comfortable while prumming. It looks like it will last if not abused. I brought this Anvil Pruner to replace the one I have misplaced.
Got this on "daily deal" for a great price. This pruner does its job on small branches and twigs. No issues at all. Grip is great and the blades are still strong after a year.
This pruner is very well built and cuts very well and hopefully it would stay that way for a long time. The only bad thing is the lock mechanism, it always gets stuck.
