This Craftsman Anvil Pruner does not come up to the standards of Craftsman pruners I've used over the past 40 years. Poorly constructed of cheaper quality metal, the anvil is too narrow resulting in the blade at times bypassing it and jamming. It took two hands to unlock the pruners it was so poorly put together. The jaws do not open far enough unless it is completely open which makes for poor handling. Sears used to have an excellent pruner with the Craftsman label made by Fiskars. I see WalMart carries it now for the same price as this piece of junk.
Got this on "daily deal" for a great price. This pruner does its job on small branches and twigs. No issues at all. Grip is great and the blades are still strong after a year.
This pruner is very well built and cuts very well and hopefully it would stay that way for a long time. The only bad thing is the lock mechanism, it always gets stuck.
Pruner is easy to use and has locking device to keep it closed when not in use. I've tried on it small shrubs to larger bushes and it's great for detailed maintenance for bushes- cuts easily without much effort.

I've only used it on 2 tress and 1 shrub so far. It gets the job done. The rubber handles feels strong and provides a good grip. They also look like they will stay on for a long time.

Used them yesterday. Good for branches up to about 3/8" in diameter. Used my long handle loppers for the bigger ones. I bought them to replace a recent purchase which I did not like and because of the Sears warrantee.
