      Thats a Far "5" Star!
I "will" recommend this job from a little job to a big job. I like it best because it will run off of 120 and not 220, that makes will make it easier on everyone from beginners to certified. I've used this welder numerous times and the best part is I don't need an extra 50 feet of cord. Don't have to hunt down a 220 outlet. I've welded from 1/64th" flat metal and I've used it on 1/2" angle also. It does the job just right, and don't forget guys to stock up on the welding rod's, that's just how much you'll want to weld some more. The price, well you simply can't beat that. Keep it up Sears, I will be there for all your sales....

      Doesn't work.

Looks nice. Came with stuff to get you started, unlike a lot of others that are more expensive. But this thing isn't putting out enough juice to even start an arc. It sparks, but only as much as what you'd get from a nearly dead car battery. No matter how high the setting, I can't get it to start an arc - even with the supplied electrodes. When I couldn't get an arc started on some exhaust work I wanted to use this on,  I  took a piece of Bethlem steel, and ground it shiny in two places, one for the ground clamp and one to try striking an arc. I used to be a professional welder, so I know how to stick weld. Still no joy. Wishing to rule out the extension cord I was using, I plugged in right at the house. Nope, still no arc. I called the 1-800 number to ask what the manufacturer (Forney) recommends, but it went to voicemail and I'm awaiting a call-back. Someone else who reviewed this unit had a similar problem due to broken cheap internal parts, but I opened mine (10 screws instead of the 8 he reported) and everything seems intact and well connected. Unless Forney calls back with a simple fix, I'll be taking this back and picking up Miller, Lincoln, or Hobart somewhere else. Forney didn't call back, so I called them. Got to speak to a real person right away! And while they were very friendly and tried to help, when I explained the steps I had taken and the results I had (not) achieved, they could only recommend I take it back. Sears gave me no hassle about the return, even apologized for the inconvenience. So while I was there I purchased one of their Max Access sets, which I'll reivew at a later time. I bought a used Hobart wire feed welder and that's working fine.

      For the money none better.

I ordered this welder in 2013. It came in good condition and worked great the first time I used it. I found out it likes E6011 and E6013 rods real well. I used the welder last winter to build a pull behind mower in my shop and the welder worked excellent. I have used several welders in my 60+ years on this earth on can say without a doubt that this 110 volt welder is one of the best. Honestly, I welded 1/4 inch steel to a 4 ft by 1 1/2 inch solid steel rod for a tongue on my mower project and mowed all last summer with it. If you have welded before and know rods and their uses this welder will do fine. Make sure the ground clamp is making good contact or it will get real hot. Don't know why some negative comment on here but have found out through experience, read manual twice before first time welding. Amp setting, rod type and metal thickness all can give you a bad weld if everything is not set right.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      good for thin metal only

welder worked ok bu you have to be able to keep a good ark gap and only on thin metal .I returned my welder to get bigger one with more amps . If you are welding lawn furniture its good but on ant thick metal weld runs cold and bead is high not good penetration.

      95amp Stick Welder

The item was in very good condition when purchased. For smaller jobs, as specified on unit, it works well. One thing I don't like is the electrode holder which seems fairly inexpensive. It has a small duty cycle, but when used for a small project it is more than capable.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Great welder!!

Made in Italy!! Great item. Perfect for the jobs I do around the house. Misc welding and other general purpose jobs that don't need a huge amount of amperage.

      Performance

Very dissatisfied with the way it works. It did not burn the rods efficently . I feel so disappointed, seems like a waste of my money. Wondering if i waited too long to try returning it.

      Not what I was expecting.

First I paid for two day shipping, it took five business days. When it did arrive the box and weld machine its self were damaged, I had to take the machine apart to find more internal damage. After I repaired the machine I found it could not handle 3/32 electrode like advertised on box. I guess you get what you pay for, although the price was right for what I need the machine to do and it will work until a better machine can be purchased.
