i am very very impressed with this new unit..i have 5 other C3 tools and have been waiting for a stronger impact than the 1/4" one that has been out. today i brought it to the junkyard , removed 2 wheels with it then took the huge strut bolts out and the a arm bolts out on a mustang. those of you that have done this know they require alot of power. this was all done on a Lithium battery witch i might consider a must with this 1/2" gun
buy and you will no regret! it is about time!
After seeing a review of someone removing lug nuts off of a full size pickup, I decided to purchase one for myself. I tried removing the lug nuts off of my small import car and it wouldn't remove one of them. I still use it for nuts and bolts instead of a 3/8 ratchet. It will remove those quickly but it isn't for the hard to remove nuts and bolts.

My husband was having a hard time with the repairs on our Honda Accord. He was getting so frustrated. Yesterday he picked up the 17090 at Sears Northridge. This morning, with the help of this impact wrench, he was able to finish replacing the front brake rotors and repairing the power steering pump, all in less than 3 hrs. He was all smiles.

I am pleased with the purchase of the C3-19.2 1/2in Impact driver! I have had to use this tool a couple of times removing lug-nuts, and aside from needing maybe a slight improvement on the delivery of the power, maybe trying one of the Lithium batteries, the impact driver did NOT let me down!! Even on removing lugs that were installed with a pneumatic wrench!

I was holding out on buying this impact wrench for about 2 years. not because of money, but because i was worried about its performance and the other reviews people had. I finally bought it after two years of just waiting and thinking. Boy i tell you. It really is a **** good impact wrench. It does what it says and its perfect. I used it with my craftsman deep impact socket on my Honda Accord and it zips the lug nut right off. I did many test on my car with this impact wrench and it works great. It works just as good as a Snap On impact wrench. Overall its a **** good impact wrench. People with bad reviews is just hating or they got a bad messed up impact wrench. I recommend it. If you was like me and was thinking and waiting to buy this. Trust me. Go ahead. Its worth it.

Took 5 secs to remove nuts torqued to 120 ft-lbs on my camper. I'm sure it could do more but that's all I need it for. Well built and glad I have an impact wrench now.

I'm a professional mechanic and use this tool a lot for removing lugs. It works great. I read some reviews stating that this tool would not do this but I have removed lugs torqued to 125 ft lb many times. Perhaps there lugs were over tightened or they may have gotten a defective tool but mine works perfect. It does drain a battery quickly so I would recomend buying extra batterys to be able to swap out when they get weak. Also, NEVER tighten your lug nuts with this tool (or any other impact tool) without using the proper touque stick. Torque sticks limit the amount of torque applied to a lug nut allowing for proper torque. Overtighting your lugs can cause damage to your wheel hubs and warp your brake rotors.

I purchased this impact driver about a week ago. Today I decided to rotate the tires on my wife's car. It not only broke the lugs free but after changing the tires it tightened them very well. I know because I went over them with my breaker bar and none of them could be tightened any further. I also own a pneumatic impact wrench and in my opinion this cordless impact wrench (#17090) is just as impressive. By the way I also used my new 19.2v XCP high capacity lithium-ion battery. I don't know if that made a difference but what a combo.

I used this wrench as soon as it arrived to take off 2 wheels with snow tires that had been driven thru alot of snow without hubcaps protecting the lugs. I had put these wheels on a couple of weeks before, with a large 4-way lug wrench, and tightened them as tight as I could get them. This cordless wrench loosened every lug nut on its own. I think this is a great wrench! I also tightened the standard wheels with it, then used the lug wrench to see if they were tight and they were. I did use a fully charged ion battery with it.
