The Craftsman C3 Trim Saw makes life easier. It has a 5 1/2 inch blade that spins at 4,500 RPM. It can make cuts up to 1 9/16 inches thick and has a blade beval range of up to 50 degrees. I use this saw to make accurate cuts in thin materials. The built in laser guide helps me a lot when making long cuts in wood and the lite weight of this tool makes for easy transportation. This was the first Craftsman C3 power tool that I bought and it has never failed me.

We bought this for my husband to do a big deck project and it worked great. You need to have an additional battery for big projects of course. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because THIS DOES NOT COME WITH A BATTERY! This is something I didn't realize but we already had compatible tools with batteries. So be sure you purchase a battery if you don't have one or two already.

I could use a clearer, more text-based instruction manual. The illustrations are very helpful, but I am new to this tool, don't have anyone to teach me, and therefore am taking great care to master the instructions. I've had to go online and download more detailed instructions/guidelines for using circular saws.

The laser guide on these saws is rotated straight at the factory then glued into place. The user can adjust the laser from side to side only. I returned two of these saws before I finally just removed the laser assembly from the saw and set it aside. You see, trying to follow a crooked laser line can cause you to bind the blade and, if it were a more powerful corded saw, would result in dangerous kickback. The saw is worth the $65 without the laser. Many of these more powerful C3 tools cause the battery pack to overheat and then you don?t get as many charge cycles from the battery before it?s just weak. All that said, this product saves me time, works well and fits where others don't.
