This light is a good addition to have around the house but not something I find would say is an absolute 'must have'. Unlike a number of other reviews, mine is not terrifically bright and does not give off a huge amount of light. Those reviews that describe it as being useful for up close tasks are more accurate. Working under the hood of my truck or laying on the floor when changing the oil; it does a great job. Lighting up a big room in a power outage; not going to happen.
The only real problem with this light is not the initial purchase or product, but the replacement bulbs. Fortunately I haven't had to buy one yet, but I am not looking forward to it when the time comes. $5 for the bulb is resasonable, not being able to buy them at the store and having to pay $7 for shipping is a sore point for me. The original light only cost me $17 and to get one bulb costs $12....not happy. Buy two bulbs and pay shipping and I've doubled my investment. The good news is that the bulb lasts quite a long time so long as you treat this light with some care and not abuse it.
The top hook is ok, but a little awkward when trying to hang it from the hood of my vehicle.
This light seems to run forever on a single charge, even with a NiCad battery, so it is good on that account.
I'd recommend it for fix up jobs in small places, in the garage, or for emergency lighting. It would do pretty good in a tent or an ice fishing hut, but don't expect to light up the entire camp ground either.
I'd rate this one 6 out of 10.

provides generous light when working in small areas like attics, under counters etc... the light bulb is a fluorescent, so it should last a long time before getting replaced. Uses C3 19.2-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Battery or the cheaper traditional Ni-Cd battery.

I wish I had two of these lights during Hurricane Sandy. I put this light in the den and it was fantastic. It was by far my main night time room light. I will be getting another for the next big evnt.

I don't write a lot of reviews but this light works a long time (it's fluorescent so it should) and it takes a BEATING. I was working under the car and it fell from hanging off the hood clamp all the way to the floor and bounced! Still works the same (but with some scratches from the bouncing)
