The new Sears batteries are **** compared to the old ones. I've had Makitas last 10 years but these newly purchased Sears won't last past one year. When I purchased a pair a little over a year ago one would not take a charge. They replaced it. But the pair are now near toss out stage. I have 2 sets and 3 extra drills. The tools are great but what good are they if the batteries won't last. I'm ready to scrap the whole pile and buy a different brand. BUT they are ALL made in China and I think it is a **** shoot. Can the new Lithium batteries be used in the old tools? A thought BUT the cost is outrageous.
I am over 70 years old and have used sear tools since I got out of the USArmy in 1963. these batterys go tp a dril set about 4 years old I do home repairs so I use it 7 days a week and many times each day Everett Gray
These work ok in a drill or the small driver, but I would recommend the Lithium batteries if have any of the C3 tools like the angle grinder, 1/2" impact wrench, string trimmer, blower, vacuum, etc. Out of three of these NiCad batteries, one died after about 18 months, the other two are showing signs of underperformance after a couple years or so. My lithium battery lasts much longer and is still working fine. If all you have is a drill or driver, these will work fine, just be sure you have multiple batteries to keep you going for extended periods.
