I got this CanOB2 diagnostic reader so I could figure out why my engine light keeps coming on. The unit comes everything you need to get started and with the software it was plug and play. I had no problem installing the software and the computer recognizing the tool, no updates were required. It was a good thing because I didn't find instructions on how to install it in the manual. You do have have to create a user account online at canob2.com. Also write down your vin numbers and have them readily available to enter into your online account. The control panel is easy to navigate once the system is installed. This tool works perfect and a great price.

I bought this for my car & truck with both getting older, I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea. I would have liked this better with a storage case & the complete owner's manual. Not the little one that just tells you the basics! I found the complete manual online and downloaded it to my iPad for quick reference. All in all it's a good little unit, used it to check my vehicles and got the all clear.

Overall, I am pleased with the tool. Retrieving codes from my car was extremely easy. The only "ding" i would give this item is the owners manual. I must have gotten the newer version of the tool but the old manual. Their is an extra key on the tool I received and I have determined it is the enter key. The funny thing is I can't get into the menu using the instructions from the manual. Ultimately, I would recommend this product.

it needs better instructions with it not just online download. It will do much more than just read codes but you need to supply more information on use instruction and definition of terms . The supplied disc is not compatable with mac operating systems.

I bought this for my husband for Xmas. It's become a very handy tool. He's used is quite a bit. Good quality. I chose this over another brand which was a little cheaper. I'm glad I did. This is of a much better quality. It doesn't come with a case, but I used a zippered bag that contained curtains I had purchased. This way he can keep the book with the unit.

Not including a any user manual with this tool is flat out wrong. This device is fairly easy to use though. It will quickly pay for itself if you're diagnosing or clearing check engine faults. In the meantime, you'll get smarter on your vehicle maintenance and operation. Overall win-win.
