My first Craftsman tool set came in a case similar to this, only the sockets didn't stay in their places and the storage area constantly fell open, spilling my wrenches and pliers. This set has been wonderful in those respects. The sockets stay in place and the storage area is easily accessible. This case is rather large, but it holds standard and metric sockets for 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" ratches, plus extensions and nut drivers.

Bought to replace my worn out craftsman case. The hinges are better but it still has the same plastic snaps in the front that wear out and snap off prematurely. Would be perfect if this was different.

Seems nice until you start filling it. the 3/8 inch metric socket spots completely skips 20mm went from 19 to 21 the 1/2 inch standard skips 1 1/16 size the ratchet holder spots are too short for normal ratchets.both the 1/4 and 3/8 inch The conversion tables are completely unreadable raised black letter on a black background.as well as the socket markings Overall not very impressed, got an 82 piece socket set, almost 1/3 of the sockets have no spots and have to be put into the storage area under the tray

These are nice tool cases. I bought this for the added extra capacity of tools it offers to the smaller case which I also bought. I already own a smaller case which I leave in my vehicle. The only flaw is the latch on them which after time breaks off. I end up using a Latch Clasp to remedy the problem which works just fine. I think a latch which is used on the Craftsman Chainsaw cases would be better suited for the job at hand. At least those you can get replacements for.

I've had my Craftsman tools for years, they never ware out, but sadly the case is not so lucky, after many years 12 actually my case lost it's battle and my tools were everywhere, I tried a couple o cheap solutions, (yes sometimes I am a real dummy), then I broke down and got this carring case, and now my tools are easy to find, organised, and all in one place. It was well worth the few dollars it cost, only wish I had bought it sooner.
