We are remodeling, I used it to cut holes in the plaster ceiling to run my duct. The great thing is that it isn't as traumatic as a sawzall and it creates very little dust. The bad thing is that it cuts slow and the blade wears out quickly. If you have a little job that you need to keep clean, this is your tool. Do not expect this to go all day long, it was built for small jobs. I also used it to cut through a bit of trim wood that was mounted to the wall. It did a fine job, it keeps a nice straight line and very little dust. Again though, it isn't nearly as powerful as some other powertools so it will take a bit longer to cut through the material. Overall: terrific little tool for little jobs.

I bought this tool less than a year ago. I am remodeling bathrooms for a living and I use this tool quite often. Unfortunately this tool is not made for real man ... After a couple weeks the battery started falling out when working over head, the battery charge lasts about 15 minutes or if you have used from full charge continuesly maybe not more than 6 or 7 minutes. The vent for the little electric motor is right where you are supposed to hold the tool, so after about 2 minutes you have blisters on the inside of your hands from the heat the motor is generating. I have to wear cloves to use this tool. The saw blades for this tool don't cut more than maybe a door casing or drywall. Anything harder will burn the material more than it will cut it. I tried to cut my new wood floors (not the boards, but small cuts to fit around door frames) and the blade was burned out pretty much after 3 or for cuts. Overall this tool is made for a 5 year old not for a man of the trade. Don't waste your money, I already wasted mine.

I have not used the FEIN tool, but I have seen their prices. This blade in the NEXTEC has been very useful in the shop. it has decent longevity, though metal objects of course wear it out more quickly. I usually end up looking for things to cut just for fun when I have it out of the drawer.

This is a great alternative to Fien blades and they work great, same as the Fein.
