Great set of specialty tools

I am getting my degree in diesel technology, and I am starting to build my tool collection. Most people at my school buy snap on, or matco tools, but I chose to get craftsman because I wanted to get as much as I could with the expenses I had available. At first I was gonna get snap on, but I would not have gotten near the amount tools i got from craftsman for the same price. I have found that a lot of craftsman tools are just as reliable and cost a fraction of the price of the other brands, plus craftsman has a lifetime warrenty too. I bought this set to compliment my 106 pc advanced professional set, 299pc socket set, and various other tools I bought. The stubby wrenches and deep offset wrenches come in handy for hard to reach places, and I love the flex head 3/8 ratchet, and the stubby 3/8 ratchet. It comes with a good variety of other specialty tools. That being said, I did not like that it did not come with any 1/2 in extensions even though it came with 3/8 and 1/4 in extensions. Plus the flare nut wrenches are made in china, which sucks. I am trying to find some other ones that are made in USA if not Ill get some from snap on. Over all I am very pleased with this set. If you dont have any of these tools I recomend buying this set, You cant beat the price and a few of these tools will save you a head ache.

A bit disappointed...
I bought this set because the picture showed old stock USA-made tools. Unfortunately, that is not what arrived. Everything is thrown into a brown cardboard box. Some tools came in the same packaging you would see in the store. Other tools were loose or in bags. The thumbwheel ratchets, vise grip pliers, and flare nut wrenches were all newer items from Asia. On closeout, this set is still a good deal for some discontinued USA-made tools.

Not what I thought

I received the kit in a plain box. It was filled with items from bulk and individual stock. I could tell because many items had hang tags and bar code stickers on them. I worked at Sears for 4 years in the past. 3 of the 4 locking pliers were not Professional, and were made in China. The 1/4" thumb wheel ratchet is made in Taiwan. The flare nut wrenches are made in China. Everything else was USA made and as advertised. It is a shame you can not get the quality of tools in singles and instead have to buy these large older sets.
