I really like the way it is easy to start, it cuts the grass even and the controls are easy to maneuver, you can raise the deck easily to adjust the length that you cut we have over 2 and 1/2 acres so not everything can be cut the same, the only thing I do not like about the mower that stopped me from giving it 5 stars it is not for short people I am 5 foot 2 and is hard for me to be able to reach the pedal you can adjust the seat but not enough for my height.

So happy we purchased this mower to replace our worn out 14 year old Craftsman. Smooth ride, several cut adjustments, great speed and love the large cutting area. We like the change to a red mower from the old green ones.
we bought a similar craftsman lawn tractor 4 years ago. so far, 2 decks have broken due to cheap metal, both in the same place. the belts break. We bought the mower based on consumer reports, but will never buy another craftsman. My husband resurrected the old Gravely, bought a used deck for it and it's still going after 30 years. Don't buy a craftsman. Price isn't everything!
Just got this tractor used it for the first time over the weekend, grass was very long since my old craftsman stopped working the new tractor plowed right through the grass what a great cut I have a half acre took no more than 40 Min . Great tractor for the price

Delivery of this item was not as expected. I was told explicitly that the tractor would be ready to go on delivery. Not the case. Had to add oil and gas. But the tractor itself has performed admirably. It does turn nicely, and it has cut heavier grass than it was supposed to. Wear your earplugs because it is loud, not more than average though. I like the safety features: it will stall out if you just get off it, or fall off. It will shut off on high inclines(10-15 degrees). It is safer for my son to use because of these features. You can keep it running if you get off, you just have to set a lever. It's just if you hop off it will shut off, mower on or not.
Bought this mower as ours stopped working. I literally checked out all mowers from everywhere and came back to this one and I'm glad I did. I got on it and mowed our 1/2 acre yard in no time at all. Not only was it fast but the blades cute perfectly and with the extra width that helped also, as our last on was only a 42" cut. The horsepower was nice especially when getting to the thick taller grass. Can't say enough about this mower.

This has worked great for me so far. I started out using it with the chute down and it throws the grass too far for my liking. I purchased the mulch kit for it from Sears and that didn't fit. It take the MTD kit that can be found on-line, but I returned it after trying cutting with the chute up and shipping block in place. Nice pattern and no need for the mulch kit! It has a great feel in the seat and steering wheel with zero problems. Make sure you adjust the deck wheels 1/2" from your cutting height.
I have an average sized yard, and the mower has torn the deck belt twice in the first 3 months. The deck was on the highest setting and grass was average height for weekly mowing. Completely unacceptable and belts are not covered under warranty.
