Great for the price
If you're needing to cut trim, baseboards, chair rails, or anything else along those lines, this can't be beat at this price point. This is certainly not for someone who will be using it on a daily basis and hauling it places. There is a lot of plastic. I wouldn't want to treat it rough, but for what i need it for, occasional use on small-sized lumber, it can't be beat.

Nice cut, but.....
Cuts fast and clean. However, I bought it to cut crown molding, which is done with the wood at a 45 degree angle between the base plate and the back fender. Unfortunately, the back fender is not tall enough to use for crown molding. It would be great for all other types of molding however. Had to go out and buy a saw with a 10 inch blade to complete my task.

Neat little saw

Bought online as a guest because the website kept locking up at checkout. But, that aside.....This package arrived in 4 days packed well. I checked it for square and it was right on the money; after a minor adjustment on the laser sight it set dead on a near perfect 90 degree angle. I angled the head over for a 30 degree cut and it was off by one degree....OK! I like this little thing and upon first impressions, it is a very good low-end saw with simple features that make it useful. The cost makes it even more attractive. It is a decent saw. I gave it 4 stars because the laser needed to be adjusted; the manual says it is adjust correctly at manufacturing.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Awesome

I bought this for my husband. He does many small jobs both in our home and for others and he needed something that would be light, easy to carry and yet powerful. This has been perfect.

Great for DIY projects around house

I'm not cutting any crown molding so the limitations of this miter saw is not that great. You have to know and accept its limitations. Its a nice little miter saw for around the house projects where precision cuts count. Face it, large cuts usually don't need that precision. I expect with any large miter cuts I can start with this to get the angle and finish it off with a hand or circular saw. I've gotten by with only a miter box for years so this is a step up. The old style hardwood miter boxes are getting rare and expensive and plastic one's are a problem so I sprung for more capability and am happy with this. I mounted it on a sawhorse plywood table and carry it where needed. So far its working out fine.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Just what we've been looking for!

We've been looking for a miter saw that we could use when installing laminate floors, after doing a lot of research on other brands we saw the Craftsman saw and we knew we'd found exactly what we were looking for. It's light enough to carry and set up anywhere, but don't let that fool you, it is a workhorse and we're so pleased that we purchased it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Disappointing product

I purchased this product because it carried the "CRAFTSMEN LOGO". I thought it would be of the high quality that craftsmen is noted for. The materials used were inferior and poorly constructed. I know the product is at the low end but as I said it carried the CRAFTSMEN NAME. I purchased a Ryobi saw and I am very pleased the quality is superior and was at the same price.
