Great for the price
If you're needing to cut trim, baseboards, chair rails, or anything else along those lines, this can't be beat at this price point. This is certainly not for someone who will be using it on a daily basis and hauling it places. There is a lot of plastic. I wouldn't want to treat it rough, but for what i need it for, occasional use on small-sized lumber, it can't be beat.

Nice cut, but.....
Cuts fast and clean. However, I bought it to cut crown molding, which is done with the wood at a 45 degree angle between the base plate and the back fender. Unfortunately, the back fender is not tall enough to use for crown molding. It would be great for all other types of molding however. Had to go out and buy a saw with a 10 inch blade to complete my task.

My husband loves it!

I bought this for my husband and he loves it! He does some small handy work around the house and I think this is perfect for him. It's been working for him since he hasn't complained about it yet.

sturdy compact unit

Pretty reliable for such a small unit. Gets most of the job done efficiently. Obviously not for very large projects but good enough to take care of mundane items around the house

I would recommend this product to a friend.

nice little miter saw

I recently purchased a home and my sons and I are remodeling. We were using a handsaw and miter box but it really did not work well for wider trim. I found this saw on sale and it works great. It is really easy to use and makes the job go so much faster. I mounted it on a portable stand so I can move it from the garage to the back yard or any of the rooms I am working in easily.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Little Miter Saw

I used the Sears 7 1/4" miter saw to precisely cut 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 41/2" angular hardwood segments for a segmented turned hardwood bowl. The segmented hardwood turned bowl was a success due to the precise performance of the Sears 7 1/4" miter saw. Before using the saw, I tightened the saw's main pivot bolt nut because there was a slight amount of play or wobble in the pivot interface. Then I adjusted the blade for perpendicularity to the saw table and adjusted the fence for perpendicularity to the blade using a digital protractor. I checked the saw table angular detent positions with the digital protractor and the accuracy was very good. The Sears 7 1/4" miter saw is a great little saw for the price if properly tightened and adjusted.

Broke within 2 days of use.

This saw broke within 2 days of purchasing it. The engine froze up and completely stopped working. I was very disappointed since this is a Craftsman and is usually very high quality.

Overall
7-1/4 miter saw

I was very excited to buy this product, only to be dissapointed. They only thing it did good, was cut a 2x4 at a straight angle. It did not finish it at a 45 degree miter cut, the blade guard would get in the way when coming down, the dust bag is useless (like on most miter saws). I returned this item the next day after using.

Neat little saw

Bought online as a guest because the website kept locking up at checkout. But, that aside.....This package arrived in 4 days packed well. I checked it for square and it was right on the money; after a minor adjustment on the laser sight it set dead on a near perfect 90 degree angle. I angled the head over for a 30 degree cut and it was off by one degree....OK! I like this little thing and upon first impressions, it is a very good low-end saw with simple features that make it useful. The cost makes it even more attractive. It is a decent saw. I gave it 4 stars because the laser needed to be adjusted; the manual says it is adjust correctly at manufacturing.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
