Overall, others give this:
While I was putting it together I was very happy with the quality and Versatility of the product; I started to use it and could not get a straight cut, so I started checking everything out to make sure I had set it up correctly. I found that even after maxing out the adjustments it was not possible to square off the blade to the miter track. The other issue I had was no blade height lock. Unfortunately I had to return it and they took it back without a hitch.
The saw took about an hour to unpack and set up. I am familiar with table saws so some of the parts may not make sense (to someone inexperienced) per the manual. AlthoughI 've not yet made any cuts when it truly mattered, after a few passes with some 1 x 4 scraps, the saw worked as it should. Fence is accurate (always use a tape measure) and the motor did not display any of the violent wobble noted by some others. The base is secure enough but I'd recommend a helper for sheet material. All in all good value for $400.
The saw and stand went together easily. The fence was perfectly aligned to the blade. The fence was more than expected in its accuracy. Even to the measuring guide on the table. However, as i turned the saw on for the first time it immediately started to vibrate violently and I shut it off. I checked the table for level to the floor and also the arbor nut tightness. All was good. Turned it on again and same result. I then changed blades to a new out of the package Diablo blade...same results. Checked the arbor nut again and that is when i found the problem...Arbor shaft was loose and wobbled the blade almost 1/8" in either direction. UGH! No adjustments can be made to solve this...especially on a new saw. So i brought it back and the only unit available was a floor model. Before taking it off the floor i put a blade on it and lo and behold same arbor wobble. Checked the cheapest Craftsman table saw on the floor and they were tight as can be. Sears has a definite problem with this saw. If you purchase it just be cautious when you turn it on the first time...or check the arbor for play. As I said, everything was perfect...except the saw. ****, I really like it too.
I bought this saw for my shop. After using it to cut dados, I noticed that the blade moves down with the saw is on. Not a good thing if the depth of the cut moves. After look reading the manual it has a blade angle lock but no blade height lock. So I am returning it.
