Overall
Great Nail Gun

Opened up the box, was very impressed with the weight and feel of the gun. pluged in the air leaked air at the trigger straight out of the box. rain was on in the air so no time to tear apart but worked great with just a little hiss. pulled apart the night had a torn oring replaced and no problems.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Needs more power.

I picked up this nailer to replace shingles on a roof I was working on. I'm a BIG Craftsman fan - nearly every tool I have is Craftsman and they've performed absolutely flawlessly, until this one. I bought this nailer and was very impressed with the way it looked, its weight, and its cost and was satisfied until I used it. The roof I was working on was slightly springy, and this nailer would absolutely not drive the nails the entire way in.

Overall
Not enough driving power

I bought this nailer to replace shingles on a roof I was working on. I'm a BIG Craftsman fan - nearly every tool I have is Craftsman and they've performed absolutely flawlessly, until this one. I bought this nailer and was very impressed with the way it looked, its weight, and its cost and was satisfied - until I used it. The roof I was working on was slightly springy, and this nailer would absolutely not drive the nails the entire way in. It would drive nails completely flush into a 2x4 or a solid board, but not into anything with the slightest spring to it. Another gun was in use on the job (Bostitch) and it had no problem driving in the nails. Thinking I was doing something wrong - I actually took a break and read the user manual! There is a depth setting on the gun, but it was adjusted at the 'deepest' setting and would drive nails flush into a 2x4. I tested the Bostitch and the Craftsman using the exact same hose out of the same compressor. The Bostitch drove the nails flush and the Craftsman didn't. I played around with air pressure and even at a regulated 120 psi the Craftsman wouldn't drive the nails flush. At this pressure, the Bostitch was blowing nails through the shingles. As I said, I'm a Craftsman fan and will continue to be, even with this experience. I'm still not convinced that I wasn't doing something wrong, but a coil nailer isn't exactly rocket science. I returned the Craftsman gun and bought a Bostitch.
