I almost did not buy this bagger because of the terrible reviews, but after using it, I feel obligated to write a review. I usually just mulch my grass, but wanted the option to bag a couple times a year just to clean up a bit or have grass clippings to put around plants. Over the last 20 plus years, I have used dozens of different brands of mowers and baggers both commercially and personally, including top brands such as John Deere, MTD, Troy-Bilt, Snapper, Lawn Boy, Kubota, Honda, Aries, Husqvarna, Toro, etc. I have never found a bagger that is not cumbersome - that is simply the nature of the beast. Although cumbersome, this is one of the best baggers I have run into. The hardware was easy to install on the mower - took me about 10 minutes despite my 3 toddlers "assisting" me, and the bagger is one of the easiest to mount and remove I have used. The bag has a large U-shaped zipper that makes it easy to empty - yes, any bagger is cumbersome to empty, but this is one of the least cumbersome I've used. The other reviews I have read make me wonder if these people have ever bagged grass - yes, it is a pain in the rear, but this bagger/mower combiation makes it less painful.

Is there a place to select "zero" stars??? I absolutely love my 33" Craftsman mower. and I absuletly HATE the ($150.)bag catcher. Like other posts have said, it is a pain on the A?? to put on and off. The zipper broker after only 20-25 uses, and now I discover that to replace the bag, I need to again pay (dumb me!) the $150 for all three pieces. This is awful and Sears, who I have been loyal to for over 50 years should be ashamed of themselves.

As an above average assembler, I thought this bagger was difficult to install. It has to be mounted to mower, not just hung on the mower. Once bracket is installed, I found the bagger to be tricky to install on mower-and this happens every time you empty it, it takes some time to refasten the bagger at five points on the mower. Once the bag is full, there is no easy way to carry the full, heavy bag to your receptacle. One end is a zipper and the other is a hard plastic chute. The chute stays open all the time so you have to keep that end up. When you lift zippered end over receptacle, you have to hold plastic end up with one hand and reach under with other hand to unzip, only to have grass blow back at your face because you have to stand over bag to empty. Finally, my bag ripped (about 2 inches) the first time I used it. It ripped right on the support tab where you hang it on the mower. It is annoying to have grass blowing out at you while you are cutting.

I bought this mower to help reduce my hour and a 1/2 mow and it did just that. I have always mulched in my grass clippings and I do have to say it does a great job. For those of you who have said other wise, maybe you are not mowing soon enough. In May and June my grass will grow 2 1/2 inches in 3 days, so in short, I mow twice a week and mulch it in and it does the job every time. However, after reading the reviews about the grass catcher, I will not be buying it. I'll just leave that up to my 22 inch for the 2 to 3 times a year I decide it pick up. Hope that helps your decision.

The mower is great. The grass catcher is to hard to put on and to take off. The grass catcher is also hard to empty. The grass catcher adds to much extra time to mowing the yard.

The bagger and hardware are very well made, with heavy duty brackets that could withstand alot more abuse then they'll get just being used for bagging. But that's about the last positive thing I have to say. The attatchment on the bottom needed some encouragement (hammering) to get the slots to line up properly to afix to mower. The bag is attatched to the chute with a zip tie, so it cannot be removed for emptying. This is a major problem if you want to empty into a trash bag or trash can, as you cannot lift bag up to empty. The unit also adds extra width to your mower so if your storage space is limited this is an issue, as it is not a very quick process to put it on/off every week. Overall, well made but a poor design and pricey.

Love the Crastman 10.5 hp 33 in. commericail lawn mower. Cut moving time down by 30 mins.Use to take about 1hr & 15mins. to cut the grass now only about 45mins.. Order the Grass Catcher on line & received it in less then a week. That was great only thing wrong is that the catcher is such a pain in the --- to install I don't use it. They need to redesing this product so it can be easly installed & taken off to empty. Like on their other movers. Final thoughts buy the mower but DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE CATCHER it's not wroth it.

Love the mower but... Use the attachment for a couple of customers and it could definately be better but it gets the job done. After several times of mounting and emptying the bag I found a system that works....but could be alot smoother. It can be messy and more time consuming than necessary trying to get the grass out of the bag into a barrel but onto a mulch pile or back of a truck is not too difficult if neatness does not count. The bag needs some ribbing or additional support to help funnel the grass out of the zipped opening...wants to colapse on itself and keeps the grass from coming out the opening. Not having any trouble with clippings jamming the zipper That being said I plan on trying to modify this bag to empty easier and quicker or fabricate my own bag over the winter to both hold more clippings and empty quicker.

I bought the mower last summer and was not pleased at the amount of clippings it left behind. Today I received the grass catcher attachment hoping I could save time and leave my rake in the garage. Anyway, the attachment is horrible, poor quality of material, cumbersome to remove. Needless to say, I'll be taking it back as soon as I can. I'd choose a $10 rake over this heap of netting and plastic any day... Buyer beware, they send you zip ties to attaching the bag to the chute... nice quality.
