The lifetime warranty excites me and the extendable handles enhances the functionality.

The concept is novel; however, the actual operation of this is not good. The locks do not hold and if you extend it, it will slip back. Also if it is not extended, the locks will not hold and it will extend. Not a great design.
Unless you have a ****** who lives near by willing to help trim things around the yard, you'll need this tool. At 70 yrs old, I am not quite as strong as I was when I was 18 so need something which will do the job with less of my effort. This tool cuts with ease. If it feels like you might have to put some effort into cutting a branch, just pull the handles out to max length and zip right thru the branch! Wish I had bought these years ago!
I purchased this product to replace an "older than dirt" and worn out pair. These have proven to be the best investment I have made all year. Where I was having to nip through stalks from a bush using multiple cuts I am now severing them in one single, effortless cut. My only wish would be that they had listed the overall length of the product with the handles collapsed so that I wouldn't have guessed and purchased a tool box hoping that they would fit. Basically this is an excellent product and my only real complaint is a result of my own fault and not Sears. I have found the same thing that others have stated about the handles wanting to collapse while cutting with them extended but it doesn't take much to get used to apply a slight turning pressure in opposite directions on each handle.

Easily cuts the width of brush that it claims. The locking mechanism on the extendable handles needs a bit more engineering attention. Example the designing engineer needs to spend a little time pruning and chopping brush with his current design (not in a lab cutting a stick, but in the woods clearing a hiking trail).
