OUTSTANDING PRODUCT
I've used these loppers for 2 weekends now cutting trail. They cut great and the extendable handles is a nice feature I didn't have on my previous loppers. If you have to buy a pair of loppers make sure you get ones with a compund action feature.

After years of buying Craftsman, I finally found something to complain about. These loppers do a good job on limbs the size of my thumb but will not always fully cut smaller ones (peel back the bark). Also, the etending handles would be fine if they didn't always "unlock" as they are used. The twist handles rotate every time you try and make a cut. Thus allowing the handles to extend almost each time they are used. When handles are extended fully, it is necessary to spread your arms apart about 5-6' to get the blades over a thumb sized limb.

Lopper

It works well and the extended arms are a great help. With care the extensions stay locked.

Does what it claims

Easily cuts the width of brush that it claims. The locking mechanism on the extendable handles needs a bit more engineering attention. Example the designing engineer needs to spend a little time pruning and chopping brush with his current design (not in a lab cutting a stick, but in the woods clearing a hiking trail).

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Lopper needs to hold strong.

I was searching for strong loppers with extendable handles. This lopper is strong and sharp. The handles extend, but they don't always hold their position. Because of the circular "clip," if you turn your hands and thus the handles, the clips turn and come undone. That means the handles are no longer locked in place amd they start to slide in and out. All this means is that you have to adjust your motion when you are cutting to hold your hands in the same position and not to twist. It can be a pain, but you can train yourself to not move or to get used to the clips letting go. If I could have found a lopper that has real clips that work like a switch and not a circle shape, I would have bought those instead. I will not return these, because they are very strong and sharp, but they aren't as convenient as I would like.

Shrub and tree loppers

Sharp and easy to use and live up to the claims on the packaging and website! These loppers made my work so much easier. Even the extended handles worked really good!!! They are proportioned and made well to make the cut easy to do with just a little effort and as a woman I really like that!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice Loppers

Great price-- easy to extend to get more leverage. Cut smooth to protect the tree itself.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Craftsman Compound Act. Bypass Lopper w/ Extend. Handles

This tool works great. The only thing that I do not care to much, is the Extendable Handles. They do not lock as they should. It collapse very easily. Other than that defect. It is a great tool for what I needed to do.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I liked it but

I liked the compound action and extendable handles. But I did not like the small jaw. Medium size branches seem to slip out of the jaw. I got this lopper after using the Craftsman's big jaw lopper. That one had big and very heavy duty jaws - but lacked the compound action. Medium to big branches require compound action. I doubt if both loppers were tested in the field before bringing to the Sears stores.

Reliable cutting tool

This is a strong tool that has held up great so far after using it for a week every day after work. The long handles give you good torque to cut the larger limbs easier. Occasionally I had to tighten the the handles when extended but all one needs to do is twist the lock again. I would recommend this. The only thing was it is a little pricey, but I figured you get what you pay for.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
